GOD’S LOVE FOR US RESULTS IN OUR LOVE

FOR ONE ANOTHER 1 John 4:1-24

Love provides, guides, and protects…!

I. The spirit of truth versus the spirit of falsehood (4:1-6)

A. Children of God discern the spirits (4:1-3, 5)

B. Children of God overcome the evil one (4:4)

II. God is the source of love (4:7-10)

A. God is love (4:7-8)  

B. The love of God is manifested through his Son (4:9-10, 14, 19)

III. God’s love inspires us to love one another (4:11-21) 

A. God’s love is manifested when we love one another (4:11-13, 20-21)

B. By exercising love we will have confidence and overcome fear (4:16-18)
