Fifty Nifty United States

Fifty nifty United States from thirteen original colonies; Fifty nifty stars in the flag that billows so beautif'ly in the breeze. Each individual state contributes a quality that is great. Each individual state deserves a bow, we salute them now.

Fifty nifty United States from thirteen original colonies, Shout 'em, scout 'em., Tell ~II about 'em, One by one till we've given a day to ev'ry state in the u.s.A:

\

Alabama, ,Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut; Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois,

I

Indiana; Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan; Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada; New Hampshire, New Jers~y, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota,

Ohio; Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas; Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming.

North, south, east, west, in our calm, objective opinion, (name of home state) is the best of the Fifty nifty United States from thirteen original colonies, Shout 'em, scout 'em, Tell all about 'em, One by one till we've given a day to ev'ry state in the good old U.S. A.

Please practice songs for our celebration.

This Land Is Your Land Written By: Woody Guthrie Lee Greenwood

Chorus This land is your land, this land is my land From California, to the New York Island From the redwood forest, to the Gulf Stream waters · Hey, this land was made for you and me.

,\

As I was walking a ribbon of highway I saw above me an endless skyway I saw below me a golden valley This land was made for you and me

·I I

Chorus:

I've roamed ~nd rambled and I've followed my footsteps To the sparkl, ing sands of her diamond deserts And all arouri:d me a voice was sounding This land was made for you and me.

Chorus:

When he sun comes shining , as I was strolling The wheat fields waving , and the dust clouds rolling , The fog was lifting , a voice was chanting saying , This land was made for you and me.

Chorus:

This land is your land This land is my land This land is our land. This land!

On T~ursday April 4 th we will be having a celebratio~ of our fifty states project! The students have been working hard over the past couple months. During read aloud we have been reading about different landmarks across the country. In writing we are creating informational books about a state. In math we are solving problems related to state fun facts, and in art we are creating collages of different state bird~. Of course they've also been working hard at home to'. create a hat displaying the information -about their state. We would like you to join us in celebrating and sharing the students' hard work.
