HOW DO I GOTEACH? 13

AIESEC is the world’s largest youth-led organisation. On the GoTeach Programme, you will be hosted and supported by AIESEC members from your destination. You will also be working with graduates from over 126 countries, overall creating a cultural learning experience.

As a not-for-profit organisation, AIESEC reinvests money back into its members and exchange participants. AIESEC andthe impact it has is recognised globally by world-leading employers such as PwC, Deutsch Post DHL and UBS.

Your AIESEC ExpErIEnCE StArtS HErE.Taking part in “Goteach” with AIESEC UK gives you an opportunity to work and ultimately immerse yourself in a new and exciting country with a global network of young people to support you along the way.

Go Teach is one of AIESEC’s global internship programmes offering young people an international experience teaching English abroad. English language education has the power to impact the society in another country by improving access to global educational and professional opportunities.

The average duration of the programme is 8 to 40 weeks, with projects starting in January 2016.

Go Teach provides you with the space and resources to develop both personally and professionally while giving you the opportunity to positively impact the life of others through education.

We believe that education should be a right not a privilege.

The culture as well as the weather, varies by altitude, across the vast Colombian landscape, with geographical isolation keeping aspects natural - this is also the case with the easy to understand Spanish. China is the fastest growing economy in the world. Our opportunities span the largest cities like Shanghai and Beijing to the more rural areas further inland. The nation has such a rich tapestry of history and culture that has yet to be exported accurately by the western eyes. Huge differences exist throughout the country; differences only really appreciated when witnessed first-hand.

So my project is teaching English at a summer camp. I’ve been teaching 15/16 year olds who have a good knowledge of English already and so I have been helping with fluency and cultural teaching as well. This aspect has led me to appreciate the differences in culture a lot more because we truly are exchanging cultural knowledge. Being in a professional environment abroad has also meant that I have become a lot more confident in my abilities to be independent as I’m in a totally new place and have responsibilities as a teacher.

OTHER COSTS TO CONSIDER

You will need to cover the international health insurance, visa costs and airfair. Usuallyparticipants are also responsible for covering their own accomodation costs during the internship, however these costs are covered within this particular project.
