“Studying abroad in Morocco meant challenging the ideas that I had about myself and what I am capable of. Every day brought new and unexpected adventures, and I loved every second of it. My host family became
my support system and I connected with like-minded
students from colleges around the U.S. who remain
some of my closest friends today. I also got to explore
my interests in journalism, report on local events that
allowed me to practice my skills and gain a deeper
understanding of the country. I learned so much about
myself, Morocco, and international reporting, and it
undoubtedly has shaped and will continue to shape the
career decisions I make. I think back on my experience
in Morocco every day — studying abroad was one of the
best decisions I made while at Notre Dame.”

FurtherInternships provide a deeper, immersive experience in your host country’s culture. Many study abroad programs include this option at small and large local organizations.
Jump-start your senior thesis or conduct research while abroad. Ask
your advisers how you can access local resources, archives, and other
research materials in your host country.
Participate in a wide variety of community engagement opportunities in almost every program location. Service opportunities with local organizations provide a more holistic study abroad experience.
