HOW DO WE CHANGE? Go and Sin No More (Part II)

For the woman caught in adultery, what was life like after “the experience”? We all want to change something, whether it’s shedding a few pounds or leaving a life of addiction behind. But, we ALL struggle with making positive change permanent. Be ___________________________in your commitment to it! The battleground is the

mind not the circumstances or conditions that surround us.

“Thank God! Once you were slaves of sin, but now you ________________________ obey this teaching we have given you.”—Romans 6:17

Be __________________.

“My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite ________________you, God, will not despise.” —Psalm 51:17

Be ___________________—naturally follows humility

“And without ________________ it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” —Hebrews 11:6.

Be ____________________

“If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all His commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.”—Deut. 28:1

Be _____________________ and remain that way. Change doesn’t happen over night. You don’t undo the mistakes or reap the benefits of God’s promises quickly. God uses time to teach and reinforce His life lessons.

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of ________________________ and _______________for those who have been trained by it.” —Hebrews 12:11

Please welcome the Allen family! Matt is an administrator

and Kathryn is a teacher in the Bentonville public schools.

Daniel is a 7th grader at Fulbright Junior High School, and

Logan is in the 2nd

grade at Elm Tree Elementary School.

The Allens have been in NW Arkansas for several years,

having moved here from Little Rock where they attended

the Pleasant Valley church of Christ. Be sure and meet the

Allens and give them a warm welcome.

We are blessed to have James, Rachel and Brian Brunton

place membership with us. James works as a strategic

pricing manager for J.B. Hunt and Rachel is a stay-at-

home mom. James has done fill-in preaching, teaching,

and work with young adults. Rachel has been active in

women’s ministries. James enjoys golf, soccer, walking,

and disc golf, while Rachel likes to read and do crafts.

The Bruntons moved here from Hernando, MS, where

they worshipped with the Friendship church of Christ.

Make sure they feel welcome.
