HACC SWACHHTA ABHIYAAN AT BODAkDEV

HACC conducted a cleanliness rally and drive at the Bodakdev

area on 8th of February. The Principal and students visited this area with posters and banners to spread the message

of cleanliness. In collaboration with Rotary Club of Ahmedabad, Sambhaav Group and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, they also distributed dustbins to the residents of the area.

CLEAN INDIA OF MY DREAMSWhenever some of my

friends return to India even after a

short stay abroad, without exception every one of them wax, eloquent about the cleanliness they had seen in the countries abroad. They said that almost all of them experienced, for the first time in their lives what cleanliness means and how it feels to breathe clean unpolluted air. This is no exaggeration for it all came from persons of my age who felt that someday at least India too will be spoken about in the same way by persons who come as visitors to India to experience ‘Incredible India’.

India with its vast expanse of land and water and also a large population with multiple languages, a number of religions and different cultures some how or other seems to be lacking only in the thing and that is cleanliness. We all proclaimed loudly that ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’ but ironically do we really adhere to this principle.

For me, personally

speaking, after having heard about foreign countries from my friends, I have started dreaming of my India competing with these countries for cleanliness. My dream is that my India should be spotlessly clean in every corner and in every sense of the term. In my country, there will be no compromise where cleanliness is concerned. If necessary people not maintaining cleanliness at any place will be punished, but I know fully well that punishment is not the cure for all ills. Everything has to come from within and every citizen of India should feel himself responsible for keeping not only his health and home but also the surroundings he lives in. This kind of individual effort will go to make everything possible.

The India of my dreams is a place in which I can live in clean surroundings, breathe clean and fresh air, eat clean food without fear of any disease and drink water from any tap along the road. It is an India in which heaps of garbage does not hurt your eyes and nose

whenever you turn a corner. My India will promote and observe cleanliness in every form in every area, district or state. In India of my dreams, I can travel fearlessly to any corner without inhaling polluted air or drinking dirty water. The India of my dreams will be populated by healthy people who live long and be worthy and healthy citizens in this great country.

I am not only sure but absolutely confident that we have started traveling towards the realization my dream India as the entire country is being galvanized by ‘Swachh Bharat Movement’ which is fast catching up in every part of the country, be it North, South, East or West. In India of my dreams, it will not be many more years when people can come here without wearing any kind of mask for fear of breathing polluted air.

This is the India of My Dreams and I am sure it will not remain just a dream anymore.

It was a great and a wonderful day for both the sides of students.
