The Challenge

Manufacturer of high quality, contemporary style kitchens, Offspec Kitchens Ltd, suffered accidental damage to its units on a site in Manchester during their installation.

The damage was clearly visible on the high gloss cupboard doors, end panels and drawer fronts, so rather than replace these items, it chose the more-environmentally-friendly option of having them repaired. Offspec Kitchens Ltd called in other repair companies in an attempt to rectify the damage; however, none of them could complete the work to a high enough standard to meet the exacting client’s satisfaction.

Offspec Kitchens Ltd finally approached Plastic Surgeon in the hope that the specialist could get the perfect colour match and most accurate finish it was looking to achieve for these high end kitchens.

The Solution

In this instance, Plastic Surgeon’s Finisher took one of the cupboard doors away to perfect the colour match and repair technique that would be required when on-site at Milner’s Wharf; and to ensure that the work undertaken would be as accurate as possible.

Upon advising Offspec Kitchens Ltd that it had perfected the colour match and repair technique, the manufacturer was still dubious about using Plastic Surgeon’s expertise. Due to its previous experience with other supposed specialists, this was not perhaps surprising, but after some negotiation – and seeing the work that a Fine Finisher could do – the kitchen manufacturer gave the go ahead for Plastic Surgeon to proceed with the repairs.

The Result

Plastic Surgeon achieved the accurate colour match required, while the high gloss finish replicated exactly the surrounding finish of the units. David Wraite, from Offspec Kitchens Ltd, was very pleased with the work Plastic Surgeon carried out, which resulted in the Finisher gaining similar repair work elsewhere for the kitchen manufacturer.
