What is Global Warming?
It is the natural way of keeping a planet warm.
But human activities have caused disastrous variations in this natural system.
So, global temperature is rising
beyond the critical point.
Chronicles of Global Warming.

Green House Gases.
CO2
Methane
CFCs
Ozone
Nitrous
Oxide
H2O(g)
How do GHGs warm the atmosphere?
The warming effect of a molecule depends on its molecular vibrations.( Not on number of atoms)
If, Molecular vibration = Frequency of I.R frequency waves Then that molecule can act as a warming
substance.
Effects of Global Warming.
Global Cooling Effect.• Pinatubo stratvolcano- Philippines, 15th of June 1991
• 20 million tons of SO2 and ash.
• 20 km up through the atmosphere.
• Global temperature reduction- 0.4℃ - 0.5℃
Your contribution to destroy the earth!!
Your one day computer usage emits 1.1 kg of CO2
Turning on a light for six hours emits 680 g of CO2
Taking a bath uses up to 1.6 kg of CO2
Riding in a gasoline car for 4 km emits 2.3 kg of CO2
All humans the world over add
100 million tons of CO2
into the atmosphere each day.
How can we stop this?? Reduce the emission of GHGs.• Use carbon filters.• Use electricity and petroleum properly.• Use public transportation services.• Say “No” to coal and petroleum power & promote alternative
energy sources.• Avoid using polythene.
Protect forests and plant trees.
If we fail in this task, the only solution is
Adaptation
It’s your choice.
