WLPGA Innovation AwardThe prestigious WLPGA Global Innnovation Award is given every year to the most outstanding paper. With a wealth of benefits to the winner, this is an opportunity not to be missed for everyone developing innovative technology in the industry. The Innovation Award will be granted to the winner of the GTC2017 programme chosen from the papers that will be presented in Marrakech in 2017.

Identifying new technology is key for our industry and is also part of the core of the

WLPGA Mission Statement. The primary aim of GTC is to identify and showcase the

most innovative and original technological ideas from around the world and create

new opportunities for the LPG industry. It brings the LPG industry together, from

research entities to academic partners, LPG distributers, LPG producers, equipment

manufacturers and beyond. GTC is a unique opportunity for showcasing innovation

and we want to see everyone taking part.Nikos Xydas

Suggested Topics

All selected papers and presentations showcased at the GTC, enter the selection process for the following year’s WLPGA Innovation Award. The winner receives a cut glass trophy, a free pass to the next years’ World LPG Forum, a dedicated WLPGA case study covering the project, industry press coverage, promotion via WLGPA social media and more.

GTC is open to both companies and non-commercial entities.

All original papers are welcome. Papers are primarily of technological content that may be for example a work in progress, a previously unpublished report, a report that has not yet had wide international exposure, an innovation of an existing technology or equipment, but can be also innovative practices or procedures.

Topics for GTC relate to all aspects of the LPG industry where there is an emphasis on technology development and improvement that leads to, for example, expanded opportunities for LPG usage and volume growth, operations optimisation, cost reduction, increased safety, energy efficiency and reduced carbon footprint.

These can cover new and innovative ways of using LPG, significant improvements of existing applications or appliances and equipment using LPG as a fuel. Although the focus of GTC is technology, the scope also includes abstracts describing successful marketing and implementation of these new technologies.

Abstracts dealing with production and processing of LPG are encouraged if the focus relates in some way to new production or market opportunities for LPG.

Submission is easy and free. The submission form together with all other details can be simply downloaded at www.wlpga.org/gtc and submitted by e-mail.

These may include latest innovation in power generation, fuel issues, innovation covering sectors such as residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural, marine, leisure, operations, distribution, environment, automotive and processes but papers on any topics covering LPG are welcome.

Since the first GTC, which was held in Chicago in 2006, the popularity of the event

has grown to attract audiences of well over 200. All exhibitors to the WLPGA

Forum are now invited to join the event as part of their exhibitor package.

GTC is a tremendous platform for showcasing innovation to a very focused audience.

It was very exciting to be in GTC2016 in Florence and listen to the group of speakers

presenting some of the best topics I’ve heard in the last 4 or 5 years of attending

GTC. We expect innovation out of our manufacturing partners, we expect innovation

out of our industry, we work with people that make innovation a part of their day.

We talked in the presentations about innovation in power generation but if you

think about it, it’s not only innovation in power generation, but innovation in an

engine and that’s where we see the market future. Whether the engine is powering

a heat pump, a vehicle or a power generator, this is always a very efficient engine

using LPG in a very intelligent way.
