Schooling shall be under
the state supervision.
Article 41:
In 1997 on the basic of again
accepted Laws of the Republic of
Uzbekistan: «On Education», «On
the National Program of personal
training» in the country the unique
system of continuous formation
including the following types entered:
pre-school education, primary
education, general secondary
education, secondary-specialized,
vocational training, higher education,
postgraduate study, professional
development and staff retraining.
The basic purpose of the education system
is formation of new generation of the staff
possessing ability to put and solve a task on
prospect, high general and professional
culture, creative social and personal activity,
skill independently to be guided in a political
life.

The educational policy
At the first stage of realization of the National program
(1997-2001) necessary legal, organizational and financially-
material conditions for structural reorganization and radical
updating of the maintenance of an education system on the
basis of preservation of its positive personnel and
scientifically-methodical potential were created.
At the second stage of realization of the National program
on a professional training (2001-2005 and next years), the
great attention was given to the organization of the
differentiated training, completion by the qualified
pedagogical personnel of educational institutions,
strengthening of their material, information and methodical
base, support of teaching and educational process with the
qualitative educational literature, front lines pedagogical and
information technology.

In educational institutions enrolled 4.5 million students and they are taught by 416 thousand of teachers, that is to have each teacher to 11 pupils, and this figure is one of the highest among developed countries.

Languages at school:
In secondary schools Education conducted in 7 languages in
Uzbekistan:
Uzbek, Kazakh, Karakalpak, Russian, Tajik, Turkmen and
Kyrgyz.
Equipping of schools by learning laboratories:
The number of laboratories on Physics have been increased
to 9875 (compared to 2004 more than 71.5 %), on Chemistry
- 9487 (68.5 %), on Biology 9390 (68.5 %), there are 6626
gyms(45.1 %), 7584 schools equipped with the latest models
of computers (77%).

Equipment of schools by modern computer classes was conducted both within the limits
of the given State program, and with attraction of investments of the international
financial organizations.
Realization of the state program has allowed to finish in 2012 this parameter of
equipment of schools modern computer classes to 77 %.

Using of ICT in educational process:
Under the Ministry of Public Education was founded the Center for
Development of multimedia educational programs.
Today, 119 e-materials, 47 virtual labs, and 113 various multimedia resources
developed and introduced into the educational process.
Created 1074 Information and Resource Centers.
In the country specifically for educational institutions organized by the
Information and Education Network «ZiyoNET», which is connected to almost
all secondary schools.
