Connect your classroom with a Peace Corps Volunteer serving abroad. Peace Corps Volunteers in the field exchange emails, letters, videos, photographs, and telephone calls with classrooms in every state and the District of Columbia. The Correspondence Match program matches up Peace Corps Volunteers in the field with American classroom teachers. The result? A vibrant two-year exchange of ideas, stories, pictures, and artifacts that helps American students in the classroom learn about the people, geography, and cultures of the world from the direct experience of Volunteers living in other countries

• US & Canadian students send a symbolic monarch to Mexico as the real monarchs are migrating to their southern nesting grounds.
• Children from Mexican villages will ‘take care of’ the symbolic butterflies until Spring.
• When the real monarchs return to the US & Canada, Mexican send symbolic butterflies back
• In the interim, students can learn about the amazing monarch butterfly & it’s 4 generation journey as well as cultural exchange with students from Mexico through the Journey North website.

Students participate in monitoring the forests of Borneo.
Each student is assigned a parcel of land, and through the use of satellite imagery, identify and mark changes in land patterns over a period of time, reporting disturbances, collaborating with neighbors who hold the land around their hexagon to explore whether or not the disturbance is related to illegal activity. These changes are shared with relevant local authorities, who will then investigate any deforestation in that area. Students share on the Earthwatchers WIKI.
