DAY 1, EN ROUTEOn arrival to Rio de Janeiro, we will be and transferred to the hotel. On the way to the hotel, short orientation city tour through downtown, Maracana stadium (outside), Sambodromo, Flamengo Park and Rio's celebrated beaches. Overnight at our hotel in Rio de Janeiro.

DAY 2, RIO DE JANEIRO

Morning at leisure. In the afternoon, transfer to Praia Vermelha (the red beach), where we will start our trip by cable car, offering us a

wonderful view of the Guanabara Bay. Access to the Urca Hill is by the first leg of the cable-car, traveling some 575 meters from Praia Vermelha to a height of 220 meters above sea level. It has a beautiful view of Botafogo and the Guanabara Bay. The attractions of this

hill-top plateau include a heliport, panoramic restaurant and amphitheatre. The second stage of the cable-car covers 750 meters to the

top of Sugar Loaf, at a height of 396 meters. From this viewpoint, there is an uninterrupted and breathtaking view over the bay to Niterói,

ITINERARY

We will drive by Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon to the colonial district of Cosme Velho, where we embark on a cogwheel. We continue withthe characteristic train to the Corcovado. A modern Swiss-made cogwheel rail climbs through Tijuca Rain Forest to the top of the

flanked by beaches and lagoons.

DAY 3, RIO DE JANEIRO-FULL DAY LEISURE AND SAMBA SHOW AT NIGHT

DAY 4, RIO DE JANEIRO – IGUASSUTransfer to the airport for our flight to Foz do Iguassu. Upon arrival, transfer to the Brazilian National Park. Explore the falls, starting with visit from the Brazilian side. We will walk through pathways that will take us close to the falls and get a little wet.

Transfer to the Argentinean National Park. A train departs from the Central Station located 400 meters from the main gate. We may take the train or an easy 20 minute walk along Sendero Verde (green trail). Both ways will get us to Cataratas Station for the second part of the train ride. This train goes to Garganta Del Diablo. From here, there is a half hour walk to the Garganta Del Diablo waterfall. The Upper Circuit starts at Cataratas Station. It is a 20 minute walk, 1200 meters trail, with low difficulty and no stairs. Here, we'll have aerial views of the falls through different observation points. Tonight, we will experience a typical Brazilian barbecue, south style. Ribs are grilled to perfection! The folkloric dinner show is a mix of Brazilian, Argentinean and Uruguayan dances and rhythms. We will be able to enjoy the most famous Latin American folk show. Overnight at our hotel in Iguassu.

DAY 5, IGUASSU – BUENOS AIRESTransfer to the airport for our flight to Buenos Aires. (Flight not included in land price). On arrival, we will be met and transferred to the hotel. On the way to the hotel, we will have a panoramic tour of Buenos Aires. Our journey starts at Plaza de Mayo, the city's foundational site and witness of the country's political history. We'll then head for San Telmo, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. It used to be the residential district favored by the upper class, until late 19th century when a yellow fever epidemic caused the wealthier families to head northwards. The area was marginalized until the 1970s, when many artists and artisans came here to install their workshops. Nowadays, thanks to its amazing architecture and convenient location, this ancient neighborhood is really blooming. Check-in. Dinner and overnight at our hotel in Buenos Aires.

DAY 6, BUENOS AIRESWe will spend the day in Argentine Gaucho heartland. We will leave Buenos Aires for the grassy Pampas surrounding the city, which extends into the interior for hundreds of miles. When the Spanish began colonizing the area, they harnessed the wealth of the Pampas by ranching them. This eventually resulted in vast estancias with grand and boldly designed architecture. The men upon whom it fell to take care of the animals came to be called Gauchos, the Argentine cowboys. We will have the opportunity to enter into the romantic world of these gauchos and participate in their traditional dances and music during an authentic gaucho festival. The party takes place at a beautiful old ranch and includes a typical “asado criollo” (Argentine barbeque), horseback riding, wine, folklore show of dancing and gaucho horseback skill demonstration. Overnight at our hotel in Buenos Aires.

DAY 7, BUENOS AIRESToday, we will start our journey towards San Telmo, a picturesque area that still preserves its cobbled stone streets, as well as some colonial constructions from the turn of the century. Nowadays, there are many antique shops and artist's ateliers. On Sundays, there is a flea market bustling with unique artisans and antiques. San Telmo was the home of wealthy citizens before Yellow Fever struck. After the plague, people started to migrate to the higher area of the country to be safer. Taking the historical Avenida de Mayo, we arrive at the legendary Café Tortoni, the oldest café in Buenos Aires. We will enjoy petit fours and coffee during our visit. Throughout the years, it has received the most distinguished visitors, writers, musicians, local and foreigners among them, such as Jorge Luis Borges, Julio Cortazar, Federico García Lorca and Carlos Gardel. Wealthy society used to frequent this area to enjoy the fresh air. We continue to southern La Boca, where we will see the famous Caminito street open air museum and Boca Juniors Stadium. The neighborhood has its own strong identity. The Italian immigrants that settled in this area, close to the port, built colorful tin houses. The neighborhood has retained much of its original character, a mixture of popular culture, tango, street art and soccer. We will then head towards Puerto Madero, the newest and most contemporary district of Buenos Aires. Modern real estate and high-rise office buildings form a new kind of skyline, towering above an upscale promenade of riverfront bars and restaurants. Now it is considered a brand new residential area where the wealthy live. Driving along 9 de Julio Avenue, the widest one which features the famed Obelisk, we will notice the contrast with areas visited the prior day. We'll then experience a night in Buenos Aires, like a local, at a milonga for a tango show. This is an authentic club where a live band plays and locals gather to dance tango in its purest form. The food and culture are amazing. Overnight at our hotel in Buenos Aires.
