RECYCLING

We do this project to:

• Find the tonnes of glass that we throw in different places

• Know more information about recycling glass process

• It’s 100% recyclable

• It melts at 1500 ºC

• It’s hard, transparent and fragile

• It’s an isolating material

• Windows and bottles

• 1. Separate and classify the glass by colours

• 2. Remove labels and metallic tops• 3. Clean and bleach it• 4. Break the glass in small parts and melt

in a furnace at 1.500 ºC (50% of recycled glass and 50% of raw glass)

• There isn’t a limit on the number of times it can be recycled.

• 1977: ANFEVI (Associació Nacional Empreses Fabricació Automàtica Envasos de Vidre)

• 1982: Beginning of glass recycling First green container in Spain

• 1995: ANFEVI created ECOVIDRIO for selective collection of glass
