Some advice on buying a bed from Romy Singh of Rs Beds

Q: What sort of bed should I buy if I havea bad back?

Many people believe that a hard bed isgood if you have a bad back, but recentresearch suggests that this is notnecessarily the case and could cause moredamage. A supportive and comfortablemattress is the best option – irrespective ofthe type of construction that it is. Referenceto beds being 'orthopaedic' does not meanthat the bed has been medically assessed– it is simply a term loosely applied bymanufacturers for models that are extrafirm!

Q: What sort of bed is best for peoplesuffering from asthma or other allergicreactions?

Over time, almost all beds will attract housedust mites, whose droppings are highlyallergenic. Regular cleaning, airing and theuse of protective covers will reduce theeffect. Some manufacturers now use anti-dustmite treated fabrics. Always check with themanufacturer for information on thematerials and construction of the bed if youhave an allergy.

Q: What should I pay for a goodmattress?

Prices vary widely from under £100 toseveral thousand pounds. As a generalrule, you get what you pay for. Rememberthat, assuming a lifespan of 10 years, every£100 that you spend represents aninvestment of just 3p a night! A bargain bedis not a bargain if you don't sleep well onit...

Your fortune for September 2014Aries - (Mar 21 - Apr 19)Communications, travel, paperwork are emphasized this month. These continue to bringhappy social contacts for you through the month. This is not a good time to invest as theresults would be not as expected. But earning and spending money are lucky for all youArians. Go on and indulge yourself.

Taurus - (Apr 20 - May 20)Some investments in the real estate sector shall give you a windfall. You're dynamic andcharismatic now, especially for the starting of the month. But indecision or mistakesimpede romance, speculation, creative ventures, a vacation, children's interest. Do notinterfere too much into the personal lives of your loved ones as it might hamper long-lasting relationships.

Gemini - (May 21 - June 21)Handle governmental, institutional, paperwork with ease this month. Visit an old friend who'slonely. Be charitable with your deeds this month. Buy nothing, though which are quiteexpensive for your purse. You might be ambitious and just let it go. You are in for some happytidings at home. Business or career pursuits shall bring in good returns for this month.

Cancer - (Jun 22 – July 22)This month a subtle unease about your financial or sexual situation can tempt you to leapinto an investment endeavour. Wait until the end of the month to decide to change your life, chase sex, or invest. Until then, focus directly on ambition. You stand to gain from overseasestablishments. Children bring in name and fame for you. There would be good rapport withfriends and well-wishers for this month.

Leo - (July 23 - Aug 22)You return to a former career role or project now for this month. If you're a parent, yourtasks seem like deja-vu. Take this in stride and there's something good in it. Reject anyfinancial ideas for now. Love and far travel, might arise in your life. A wedding in the familycalls in for expenditure, long travels and meeting long lost relatives and friends. In general aneventful month awaits you.

Virgo - (Aug 23 - Sep 22)Now through the month don't start new legal, educational, far travel, or similar projects. Stickwith the old, former, or on-going ventures only. Work is hectic, will continue so until lateSeptember. Be prepared, pace yourself. It will help if you avoid new tasks without prior training.

Libra - (Sep 23 - Oct 22)Do not launch any new financial, investment commitment or similar projects now for thismonth. This same period, though, could bring you nice things in these same areas from thepast. Love is very possible this September, might grow upon you like sweet magic with anon-going relationship bringing in happiness and joy in your life.

Scorpio - ( Oct 23 - Nov 21 )Believe no promises and make none, now through the month of September. Circumstances, business factors, and personal feelings will change. An ""ex"" might return in your life.Make a good choice. You'll re-examine your marriage or other partnerships this month.Take time to decide important tasks in personal and professional life. Some financialhitches are in store for this month.

Sagittarius - (Nov 22 - Dec 21)Don't start new work, or renovation issues for this month. Major danger lurks around. Onthe good side, an old job might return to save you in a stressful money situation. Stay safeand keep your map open and your wallet closed. You're restless now through this month. But the end of the month shall see you settle down in your career and finances with a bigheart.

Capricorn - (Dec 22 - Jan 19)This month emphasizes on planning your future course of actions. Yet you can show a realgift in how you manage your resources. Of course, you are no mean machine ordinarily, butnow your ability to drill down beneath the surface and identify opportunities, is superenhanced. A new entry into the family shall give you the much needed support andstrength in life.

Aquarius - (Jan 20 - Feb 18)Do not start new home, renovation, and similar ventures this month of September. Theseareas are blessed, but new projects will go in circles. Do continue with former, old, orongoing projects here. All is sweet, relaxed and though your energy and determination youcan win over laurels and people in life.

Pisces - (Feb 19 - Mar 20)Money shall come for you easily this month. Buy a small luxury, treat yourself. Ask for araise or charge more and you'll get it. Travel, communications, paperwork, details andappointments run into glitches this month and generally until the end of the month. Do notoverindulge yourself with food as some health concerns are probable for this time period.
