Afternoon session:

ASFINAG acts as an economically responsible motorway operator. By using new technologies and innovations ASFINAG wants to make Austria's motorways and expressways amongst the safest in Europe. ASFINAG was founded in 1982 and is a state-owned company. ASFINAG plans, finances, builds, maintains, operates and collects tolls on the entire primary road network in Austria. The ASFINAG motorway and expressway network comprises around 2,200 km of roads. The scope of the company includes construction and planning of road projects, operation/ maintenance of the existing network, collecting tolls and developing telematics services.

Due to the geographic distribution of the company the exchange of data and information plays a key role in fulfilling the mentioned scope. Achieving daily business, several IT systems are available for the employees. One of these is the Geographic Information System (GIS). The GIS platform contains different geodata and database information starting from a detail level (e.g. drainage infrastructure, inventory data) to a more generalized view for planning issues and construction sites program. GIS has the capability of bringing together data from different systems and databases in one easily understandable geographic visualization.

The workshop will give an extensive view about the different GIS applications within the core areas planning and construction, operation and toll.

More than 2 Mio. people are supplied with electricity through a network of more than 23.000 km

Nearly 1.200 km of district heating and

A telco fibre network of 2.700 km

The Wiener Netze Team will present and discuss with you:

See how 4net WebGIS unites those 4 networks in one WebGIS.

Discuss the mobile workforce aspect, online and offline …

and the mobile asset management SAP integration used when it comes to trouble management in the gas sector.
