GIRLS - ALLOWED GIRLS - NOT ALLOWED
SCHOOL DRESS Dress Pants, Slacks, Trousers of any color: chino/khaki cotton twill fabric, linen, and corduroy are acceptable Collared Dress Shirt which also includes polo shirts- does not have to be an oxford button down Blazer of any color or pattern must be worn when wearing pants Shoes with a maximum 2 inch heel. Rumsey flip flops may be worn in September and May Skirts of any color or pattern must be no more than 3 inches above the knee. Dresses of any color or pattern must have a conservative neckline and a hem no higher than 3 inches above the knee. Knit sweaters/ knit cardigans may be worn over collared shirts. *Winter Dress: After Thanksgiving recess until Spring Recess Girls may replace their blazers with a knit sweater over their collared shirt when wearing pants. If wearing a turtleneck-style sweater a blazer must be worn with pants.

FORMAL SCHOOL DRESS Navy Blue Blazer with Rumsey Patch, gray or chino/khaki pants or skirt (see length requirements above) solid blue or solid white oxford-style collared shirt

CASUAL DRESS Non-athletic pants, denim pants, jeans, shorts, collared shirts/polo shirts, sweatshirts and fleece tops
CASUAL DRESS Hooded, ripped or torn garments, shorts, cut-offs with frayed edges or with an inseam less than 5”
PLAY CLOTHES Pants or shorts (including athletic styles & frayed blue jeans), appropriate T-shirts, sweatshirts, hooded sweatshirts or collared shirts
PLAY CLOTHES Garments with inappropriate messaging, “short- shorts”
SPECIAL EVENTS: Varsity Banquet, Senior Dinner, Commencement Dance, Commencement Special Events are important traditions at Rumsey Hall. Keeping modesty in mind, skirts and dresses should be no more than 3 inches above the knee, conservative dress tops may be strapless, halter or spaghetti strap, dress tops should fall mid-back, in line with bottom of shoulder blades. No cut-outs. Shoe heels should be no higher than three inches. COMMENCEMENT White dress with conservative neckline and back. Hemline no more than 3 inches above the knee (slips may be necessary). Shoes or sandals with a low heel.
Upper School Girls’ Dress Code DRESS COLLARED SHIRTS: Girls may wear dress collared shirts, oxford and polo shirts for School Dress. Examples:
FORMAL SCHOOL DRESS SHIRT Girls must wear solid white or blue oxford-‐style shirt on Formal School Dress days. Examples:
DRESS PANTS, SLACKS, TROUSERS: Pants or slacks may be of any color. Chino/khaki cotton twill fabric, linen, and corduroy are acceptable. Slim leg/ankle pants are permitted. Pants may not be jeans or made of denim material. Lycra leggings with or without pockets are not considered School Dress pants. Examples:
