Employment Experience:

Electronic Device Research Lab ~ Research AssistantMay 2013 – Current

Developed CdTe/CdS nanowire surface and interfacial physical models using quantum physics and solid state physical techniques.

Programmed sophisticated solutions to thin-film nanowire semiconductor models using scientific computing techniques.

Optimized semiconductor surface conditions to increase bandgap and open circuit voltage for higher power efficiency of photovoltaic devices.

University of Kentucky’s Digital Image Processing Lab ~ ProgrammerDec 2014 – Current

Developed code using OpenGL and Shader language on Android kernels to be used on high-end embedded computer systems.

Built standalone program interfaces which circumvented traditional OS boots by booting to a predesigned GUI.

Created portable functions which took advantage of the graphics card pipeline in order to process images more efficiently.

Modified Linux packages in order to troubleshoot package development issues.

University of Kentucky’s System Space Lab ~ Embedded ProgrammerMay 2013 – July 2013

Developed a cross platform between existing code for a 9-axis motion processor’s firmware and STMicroelectronics Standard Peripheral Libraries.

Debugged MatLab code in order to better process and classify motion of incoming accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer signals.

Optimized code developed for the IAR Embedded Workbench compiler to be used in the freeware version of the Keil uVision Development Package.

Current Activities:

Designing Hybrid Aerodynamic Powertrains June 2016 – Current

Designing and Simulating Aircraft and Spacecraft Propulsion Systems using Autodesk, Autocad, Comsol, Matlab and Simulink.

Designing and Simulating Control Systems, Power Management, Power Electronics, Charging Systems, and Flight Management using Matlab, Simulink, and Multisim.

Coordinated UAV Path Planning for Space Drones for using in space manufacturing Matlab, Python, Verilog (FPGA).

Designing and Simulating PMSM Electric Machine Systems for Turbofan and Propulsive Fuel Cell Propulsion Systems with Comsol, Autocad, Matlab, Simulink, Labview.

Other Experience:

NASA Mining Robotics Team ~ Robotics EngineerAug 2015 – May 2016

Worked with team to design and implement a mining robot to be used for the collection of icy regolith on Mars for use in processing water and oxygen.

Took the lead supervisor role in sensorial and automated decision making software engineering. Integrated the embedded sensorial system with the electromechanical systems.

Developed a high-tech LIDAR based visual system for distance sensing in high dust conditions, motion processing, localization, and decision making algorithms.

First Place in Offensive Network Hacking CompetitionMay 2015

Assessed vulnerabilities in Blue Team’s network, and automated a variety of exploitations to effectively cutoff access to the network from competition judges.

Wrote multiple offensive scripts utilizing common network tools such as ARP, HPING, PING. Developed a Python version of Netcat.

Strategized common pitfalls and firewall setup mistakes. Used port scanning, and manual investigation to confirm their existence.

Launched a full scale Denial of Service strike against Blue Team eliminating all access to the network.
