THANK YOU EVERYONE—all of the 5 th and 6 th Graders who worked so hard and to Mrs. SloweyJohnson and also Mr. Eaton and teachers who helped with so many details! TODAY FRIDAY 6/2: Is the official end of the Trimester and the last “Friday Newsletter” for the year! WED. 6/7: ALLSCHOOL AWARDS CHAPEL THURSDAY, 6/8: All E/MS students will attend the grade 12 Commencement, 10AM in the Chapel. NEXT FRIDAY 6/9: ALL students will receive a RED BAG which will contain ALL of the required Summer Reading packet components, including a letter of instructions. This will include the one required reading book and a packet to complete about the book. There will be a recommended Summer Reading List that your child should use to select books! The more they read the better! Finally, there is a workbook called “Summer Bridge” that is required to be completed by all

students.    It  is  composed  of  grade  level  MATH  and  ELA  work  to  practice  so  students  do  not  lose  their  skills  over  the  summer.    >THE  WEEK  OF  6/12:    THIS  will  be  a  week  to  wrap  up  all  teaching  and  making  sure  students  have  returned  all  school-­‐owned  items  such  as:  musical  instruments,  library  books,  Chromebooks  and  all  of  the  uniform  clothing!  There  will  be  some  culminating  experiences  in  both  the  residential  and  the  instructional  programs.    Tuesday,  June  13th  is  Instructional  “Trip  Day.”    All  eight  grade-­‐levels  will  be  away  from  school  on  some  sort  of  trip,  with  teachers  and  some  RAs.    1st  Grade  =  Philadelphia  Zoo   5th  &  6th  Grades  =  Washington,  DC  2nd  Grade  =  Camden  Aquarium   7th  Grade  =  Baltimore  Aquarium  &  Ft.  McHenry  3rd  Grade  =  Lancaster/Amish  country   8th  Grade  =  New  York  City  4th  Grade  =  Outdoor  Education  Program        LAST  DAY  OF  SCHOOL:  JUNE  16TH/  FINAL  ASSEMBLY  AND  MS  COMMENCEMENT    There  will  be  a  commencement  ceremony  for  the  8th-­‐graders,  and  all  of  our  Middle  School  students  will  attend.  Students  wear  their  uniforms.    That  is  at  11:00  a.m.    Following  the  ceremony,  there  will  be  a  reception,  hopefully  outside  if  the  weather  permits.    Then  all  students  are  excused  for  the  summer  at  1:00  p.m.      Famil ies  of  8th-­‐graders:  You  will  receive  your  6  tickets  for  your  family  next  week.    The  doors  will  be  open  for  Commencement  30  minutes  ahead.  Seats  will  be  reserved  for  the  6th-­‐,  7th-­‐  and  8th-­‐grade  students.      Students  required  to  attend  summer  “It’s  Elementary”  and  “Middle  Matters”  classes  will  receive  further  instructions  with  their  REPORTS  CARDS.    Classes  start  June  26  (Monday)  and  finish  August  4th  (Friday.)    There  are  no  classes  the  week  of  July  4th.        HAVE  A  FANTASTIC  SUMMER  and  KEEP  READING  with  your  children!      Look  for  letters  from  school  about  UNIFORM  FITTINGS  AND  NEWS  ABOUT  STARTING  IN  THE  FALL!
