BREAK-IN MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION PERIODIC MAINTINANCE AND LUBRICATION

For maximum efficiency and trouble-free service., make the following periodic inspections of the tractor. For engine maintenance read engine manual.

5 HOUR BR£AK,-INPER;J(l)D Tfte£U'St 5 hours of operati9n are the most critical put

on tlte, operating. parts of yoUr tractor, such as engine, tr~mj$sion, belts, battery, tires, etc. It is comparable to the tfrsimaintenance check on your automobile.

~'~rlJ:l, .thefollowing qlaintenance. to . insure longer trouble·free operation.

GIL CHANGE Ch~geellgine oil after first five (5) hours of opera

tion - 'oil drain plUg (Fig. 7) is located on under side of engine base casting OIl the right hand side, just behind front axle. (The best time to change oil is just after engine has been run). Place pan under drain. Remove plug. Mter oil is drained replace plug and refill engine with proper grade and amount of oil. Oil recommendations - see. engine manual.

3. Check starter screen (Fig. 10) for collection of grass or debris build-up. Clean off.

4. Belts - Inspect generator belt for proper tension. Refer to belt adjustment, Page 10 for proper tension and adjustment.

25 OPERATION HOURS 1. Battery - Check electrolyte level in each cell, if

low, add distilled water to just the. top of separators. Inspect battery terminals and cover. Keep tight and free of corrosion.

2. Tires - Check tire pressure. Low pressure will cause premature tire failure. High pressure will give hard ride. For tire pressure recommendations, see Page 4.

FIG. 9 Starter Screen Location

3. Fuel Filter-Make a visual inspection to see if it contains dirt or water (Fig. 9). If so, it must be cleaned.

When removing filter from gas line be sure to drain gas from tank. Filter can be cleaned by bl(}wing out or washing with clean gasoline.

4. Air Cleaner-(Fig. 9)-Clean and reoil-See engine manual.

5. Grease-Automotive wheel bearing type.

NOTE: Clean off fittings before attaching gun. Grease until it comes out of bearings. Wipe excess off. Grease with pressure type gun.
