For By Grace Are You Saved Through Faith; And That Not Of Yourselves:

It Is The Gift Of God Not Of Works, Lest Any Man Should Boast.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which

God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

I LOVE AMERICA

I love Thanksgiving when we pray, And July 4th and Labor DayWith picnics, ants, and hungry flies, And barbecue and hot French fries,

With Cokes and chips and apple pies Beneath some hazy, lazy skies.I love Miami's royal palm That oozes forth a healing balm

Beside the ocean's quiet calm. And Betsy Ross, and Orville Wright,And dear Ben Franklin's flying kite; And Thomas Jefferson's mightly quill,

And Alamo, and Bunker Hill, And Paul Revere's midnight ride,And Wilbur Wright's successful glide. I love United's friendly skies;

And baseball when the umpire cries, "Play ball!" as thousands quietly riseTo turn their moistened sober eyes Toward waving flag that proudly flies.

And Casey Stengal's Stengaleze, And Dairy Queen, and Tastee Freeze,And cotton candy at the zoo; And corny dogs and Big Macs too;

And Burger Kings, and shopping malls, And hockey pucks, and basketballs.And Mississippi's cotton fields, And Holland, Michigan's spinning wheels;

Monotonous midwestern plains, Florida's sun, Seattle's rams.Atlanta's lovely, dogwood trails, And Santa Fe's long clicking rails.

I love the Rocky Mountain peaks Beneath a sky which mutely speaks;And Disney World, and Disney Land, And Georgia's fertile blood-red sand:

The Mississippi, and Rio Grande; Wisconsin's cheese and dairy land.I love McDonald's chocolate shakes, And Minnesota's thousand lakes;

The Royal Gorge's mighty yawn, A sleepy Alabama dawn;The harvest moon that shineth on. I love to gaze at Yellowstone

While licking on an ice cream cone; And Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge;And Ford, and Chevrolet, and Dodge. I love the stately Empire State,

And San Francisco's Golden Gate. I love St. Louis' friendly arch,The Statue of Liberty's burning torch, The Washington Monument's prickly goad,

And Colorado's trail ridge road. I love "My Country, Tis of Thee,"Oh, blessed land of liberty. Long may our glorious land be bright,

With freedom's wondrous holy light, Protect us by Thy matchless might.I love to stand with hand o'er heart And think of those who did their part,

Who left a mom a lone gold star, Whose bodies rest 'neath fields afar.I love New England's rolling farms, Its quaint decor and blushing charms.I love the azalea's freshened blooms, East Texas' roses sparkling plumes.

I love it when my church choir sings, And know the peace that worship brings.There beats within my breast a dream That that small faint and flickering gleam

Will soon become a mighty flame To spread to all His matchless name:That those dear Two who call me "Dad" Will know the country I have had;

Where freedom's flag flies proud and high, And those dear ones may loudly cry,"I'm free! My dad helped make it so. That faint small gleam is now aglow!That Christian land that he once knew Is now the kind that we know too!God's judging hand has now been stayed, So I and mine are not afraid,

For churches like our own abound In every city, village, town!We're free to witness, visit, teach The same dear truths we heard Dad preach!

And now we vow to God above To pass it on to those we love."By Dr. Jack Hyles

Ellis BartleySelfishness or Selflessness? Philippians 2:3,4 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem oth-er better than themselves. 4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.I well remember when The Beatles member, John Lennon made the statement, “We’re more popular than Jesus.”

On March 4, 1966, this quote of John’s was printed in an interview by reporter (and friend of John’s) Maureen Cleave in the London Evening Standard:

“Christianity will go. It will vanish and shrink. I needn’t argue with that; I’m right and I will be proved right. We’re more popular than Jesus now; I don’t know which will go first - rock ‘n’ roll or Christianity. Jesus was all right but his disciples were thick and ordinary. It’s them twisting it that ruins it for me.”I also remember a similar quote of another, Lucifer, known now as Satan, who said, “I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.” Isaiah 14:14Both statements depict selfishness to the greatest degree.I shuddered when I heard of the Beatles statement. Just four years later the Beatles recorded their last album as a group. Shortly after the project was completed, the group dissolved in disharmony and broken friendships. And Satan was cast out of heaven Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! As for Satan, his end shall be, as Isaiah’s prophesy says, Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. Isaiah 14:15. Selfishness is an age-old problem. In the first century AD, the apostle Paul feared that the believers in the church at Philippi would fall into the trap of selfishness. He knew that that , selfishness would destroy the zeal of the church to spread the gospel as Jesus had commanded them to “go into all the world” with the gospel message Matt. 28:19, 20. To counteract this problem Paul wrote to the church at Phillippi, “Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others“. I fear that today the Christian community has fallen into the same trap, I, me, mine, “I” look out for “number one.” ------- “I” want that for “me.” -------- “I” want what’s best for “me and mine.” As evidence of this, it is hard to motivate people in church today to give a helping hand to others in need. Oh sure, it isn’t hard to get them to give of their money, but just to go and sit with someone who is sick, an elderly person who lives alone and has no family or help with cleaning house, preparing meals or other daily needs. When asked to do these things folks usually refer to government agencies such as Home Health Care or some other excuse. We need to understand that the Lord didn’t command the government to care for the poor and the elderly, He commanded the church, the Christian community and it is the first and most important responsibility of the deacon…. to care for the table of the poor and neglected and not to be a board of directors lording over God‘s heritage, the church.

The most neglected in society today is the elderly, especially elderly widows who have no family support. The common practice today is to put them in a nursing home. Nursing homes are good for critically ill people, but by all means don’t put one of your loved ones in a nursing facility and just leave them there without visiting them and spending quality time with them. Visit them regularly, take little gifts to them, make them feel that they are loved. And above all and most importantly, make sure they are receiving proper care, that they are bathed and their bed clothing is changed regu-larly, and also be sure they are not over sedated. The tendency today in many facilities is, to keep their older residents in, as it were, a chemical strait jacket, sleeping most of the time.

Acts 6:1-7.… in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.5 And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:6 Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them.7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

God’s Love in Me

I had reached a lonely hilltop; All my thoughts were deep despair;

But my burdens were soon liftedWhen I found God was there.

Evening mist was in the valley,As I slowly trudged along;

I found peace and sweet assuranceWhen I found God in a song.

When storm clouds seemed to gather,As I faced a new-born day,

I found joy beyond the shadows;God was there along the way.

All those years searching, longing,Are faint memories; I am free;I found joy that’s everlasting

When I found God’s love in me. Bess Darnell McKain

Have you Forgiven Yourself?

“... your sins are forgiven for His name’s sake” (1 John 2:12).

We were flying to a conference. I was in the middle seat - certainly not my choice - but my husband and I have an agreement that if a woman issitting by the window, I sit in the middle, if a man is in the seat by the window, Marvin sits in the middle.Barely was I settled, when I discerned that the young woman sitting next to me was very sad and deep in thought. Making conversation, I asked her where she was from, where she was going and what she did. She was a student and had been attending university in Poland - the homeland of her father. Then she told me sadly that her father had died. She had chosen to attend college in Poland against her fa-ther’s wishes and their relationship had been strained. They hadn’t forgiven each other when he died.She seemed so sad and I recognized a deeper issue. I asked her if she had forgiven herself for not complying with her father’s wishes. She answered that she couldn’t forgive herself and felt so guilty. Slowly, I began to tell her about God’s love and forgiveness. Because of Christ’s death on the cross, her sins were forgiven and guilt was removed. I encouraged her to trust that because God had forgiven her, she could forgive herself no matter how awful she thought she had been. As I spoke, I prayed and my husband prayed. I told her about something I had done as a teenager for which I had felt guilty about for many years. How I had come to the place where I was faced with the choice of forgiving myself because Christ had already forgiven me or I could continue feeling guilty the rest of my life. I had chosen to forgive myself.The light in her eyes went on. She began to understand she was totally forgiven and could forgive herself. She could be free and happy. “God meant for you to sit with me today,” she told me at the end of the flight.How about you? Is there something in your life for which you feel guilty? You don’t need to. Simply accept God’s love and forgiveness. Father, thank You that Jesus Christ took our sin and guilt upon Him-self at the cross. Thank You for setting us free. Thank You for Your love. Amen. “... your sins are forgiven for his name’s sake (1 John 2:12).

The SecretOne day, one friend asked another,

‘How is it that you are always so happy?You have so much energy,

and you never seem to get down.’With her eyes smiling, she said,

‘I know the Secret!’‘What secret is that?’To which she replied,

‘I’ll tell you all about it,but you have to promise to

share the Secret with others.’‘The Secret is this:

I have learned there is little I can doin my life that will make me truly happy

I must depend on God to makeme happy and to meet my needs.

When a need arises in my life,I have to trust God to supply

according to HIS riches.I have learned most of the time

I don’t need half of what I think I do.He has never let me down.

Since I learned that ‘Secret’ , I am happy.’The questioner’s first thought was,

‘That’s too simple!’But upon reflecting over her own life

she recalled how she thought a bigger housewould make her happy, but it didn’t!

She thought a better paying jobwould make her happy, but it hadn’t.

When did she realize her greatest happiness?Sitting on the floor with her grandchildren,

playing games, eating pizza or reading a story,a simple gift from God.Now you know it too!

We can’t depend on people to make us happy.Only GOD in His infinite wisdom can do that.

Trust HIM!And now I pass the Secret on to you!So once you get it, what will you do?

YOU have to tell someone the Secret, too!That GOD in His wisdom will take care of YOU!

But it’s not really a secret...We just have to believe it and do it..

Really trust God!

Who Was He?

There was a man who went one day On top a Joppa house to pray, And while

he waited for his meat, He dreamed he saw a great big sheet Let down from heav-

en, and insideFowls and creeping things

did ride, The one who prayed was told to eat, For God

had cleansed this “common” meat.

Who was he? (Acts 10)

Are You. . . ?===============

This is an eyewitness account that happened in the City of NewYork, on a cold day in December some time ago...

A little boy about 10 years old was standing before a shoe store on Broadway, barefooted, peering through the window, and shivering with cold.

A lady approached the boy and said, “My little fellow, why areyou looking so earnestly in that window?”

“I was asking God to give me a pair of shoes,” was the boys reply.

The lady took him by the hand and went into the store, and asked the clerk to get half a dozen pairs of socks for the boy. She then asked if he could give her a basin of

water and a towel, and he replied: “Certainly,” and quickly brought them to her.

She took the little fellow to the back part of the store and, removing her gloves, knelt down, washed his little feet and dried them with a towel.

By this time the clerk had returned with the socks. Placing apair upon the boy’s feet, she purchased him a pair of shoes, and

tying up the remaining pairs of socks, gave them to him.

She patted him on the head and said, “No doubt, my littlefellow, you feel more comfortable now?”

As she turned to go, the astonished lad caught her by the hand, and looking up inher face, with tears in his eyes, answered the question with these words,

“Are you God’s Wife?”

The Bridge Builder

An old man, going a lone highway,Came, at the evening, cold and gray,

To a chasm, vast, and deep, and wide,Through which was flowing a

sullen tide. The old man crossed in the twilight dim; The sullen stream had no fears for him; But he turned,

when safe on the other side,And built a bridge to span the tide.

"Old man," said a fellow pilgrim, near,"You are wasting strength with

building here; Your journey will end with the ending day; You never again must pass this way; You have crossed the chasm, deep and wide- Why build

you a bridge at the eventide?"

The builder lifted his old gray head:"Good friend, in the path I have

come," he said, "There followeth after me today, A youth, whose feet must pass this way. This chasm, that has

been naught to me, To that fair-haired youth may a pitfall be. He, too, must

cross in the twilight dim; Good friend, I am building the bridge for him."

Please take a moment to relax your mind and humble your heart to focus on Christ. Allow God to be the only person on your mind while you read t his

prayer. If we can take the time to read long jokes, stories, etc., we should give the same respect to this prayer. Friends, who pray together, stay together.

If you pray this prayer, change the number in the subject box before forwarding the message so people can SEE how many people have done so.

Dear Lord, I thank you for this day. I thank You for my being able to see and to hear this morning. I’m blessed because You are a forgiving God and an

understanding God. You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing me. Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you. I ask now for Your forgiveness. Please keep me safe from all danger and harm. Help me to start this day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each and every day to clear my mind so

that I can hear from You.Please broaden my mind that I can accept all things. Let me not whine and

whimper over things I have no control over. Let me continue to see sin through God’s eyes and acknowledge it as evil. And when I sin, let me repent, and

confess with my mouth my wrongdoing, and receive the forgiveness of God.And when this world closes in on me, let me remember Jesus’ example --

to slip away and find a quiet place to pray. It’s the best response when I’m pushed beyond my limits. I know that when I can’t pray, You listen to my heart.

Continue to use me to do Your will. Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the weak. Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others. I pray for those who are

lost and can’t find their way. I pray for those who are misjudged and misunderstood. I pray for those who don’t know You intimately. I pray for those who will delete this without sharing it with others. I pray for those who don’t believe. But I thank you that I believe. I believe that God changes people and

God changes things. I pray for all my sisters and brothers. For each and every family member in their households. I pray for peace, love and joy in their homes

that they are out of debt a nd all their needs are met. I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than God. Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight. I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees them and every mouth that

confesses them willingly.. This is my prayer. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

I Pet. 4:15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as abusybody in other men’s matters.I would like for us to look a little further into the last phrase of verse 15, it is such an important state-ment and I’m sure we can all relate to it, it has effected every church that I know anything about. as a busybody in other men’s matters. that is, one who pries into the affairs of another; while forgetting their own shortcomings and failures, attempts to control or direct them as if they were his own. Gos-siping, faultfinding, meddling in personal affairs. busybody Allo-trio-e-pis-ko-pos (Greek), an inspec-tor of another; meddling with other people’s concerns Notice this sin is listed with murderers, thieves and evildoers, Why?Because the sin of a meddling person can involve all three of these gross sins: A meddling person is an “evil doer.” A meddling person can “kill” a person’s reputation, testimony, his/her effectiveness. A meddling person, if allowed to continue is his ways, will often steal all of a person’s self esteem, respect & even his substance. We’ve all at some time suffered because of a busybody.Proverbs 20:3 It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling. 1 Thessalonians 4:11, 12 …that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; 12That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.2 Thessalonians 3:11, 12…we hear that there are some (men that don’t work) which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. 12Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.1 Timothy 5:13…withal they (the younger widows in the church) learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.Note: Most church splits are caused by “busybodies,” meddling in other men’s matters, especially the pastor’s matters.4;16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.Ashamed that he is despised and maltreated. He is to regard his religion as every way honorable, and all that fairly results from it in time and eternity as in every respect desire able. He is not to be ashamed to be called a Christian; He is not to be ashamed of the doctrines taught by his church; He is not to be ashamed of the Savior whom he professes to love; He is not to be ashamed of the society and fellowship of those who are true Christians, poor and despised though they may be; He is not to be ashamed to perform any of the duties demanded by his church; He is not to be ashamed to have his name cast out, and himself subjected to reproach and scorn. A man should be ashamed only of that which is wrong. He should glory in that which is right1Pet. 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?For the time is come The time has come: Those who hijacked the planes that went into the World Trade Center were promised by their instructors (deceivers) in Islam, 14 virgins in heaven….that didn’t, won’t happen. Car, roadside and human bombs, unheard of 20 years ago. John 16:2 (Jesus said) They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. “think that he doeth God service.” That time has come! For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of GodI Cor. 11:31, 32…if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 32But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.I Tim. 3:14, 15 These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly: 15But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. if it first begin at usI Cor. 15:1-4 1Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

'The Pledge of Allegiance' - by Senator John McCain

'As you may know, I spent five and one half years as a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War. In the early years of our imprisonment, the NVA kept us in solitary confinement or two or three to a cell. In 1971 the NVA moved us from these conditions of isolation into large rooms with as many as 30 to 40 men to a room. This was, as you can imagine, a wonderful change and was a direct result of the efforts of millions of Americans on behalf of a few hundred POWs 10,000 miles from home. One of the men who moved into my room was a young man named Mike Christian. Mike came from a small town near Selma , Alabama . He didn't wear a pair of shoes until he was 13 years old. At 17, he enlisted in the US Navy. He later earned a commission by going to Officer Training School Then he became a Naval Flight Officer and was shot down and captured in 1967. Mike had a keen and deep appreciation of the opportunities this country and our military provide for people who want to work and want to succeed. As part of the change in treatment, the Vietnamese allowed some prisoners to receive pack-ages from home. In some of these packages were handkerchiefs, scarves and other items of clothing. Mike got himself a bamboo needle. Over a period of a couple of months, he created an American flag and sewed on the inside of his shirt. Every afternoon, before we had a bowl of soup, we would hang Mike's shirt on the wall of the cell and say the Pledge of Allegiance. I know the Pledge of Allegiance may not seem the most important part of our day now, but I can assure you that in that stark cell it was indeed the most important and meaningful event. One day the Vietnamese searched our cell, as they did periodically, and discovered Mike's shirt with the flag sewn inside, and removed it. That evening they returned, opened the door of the cell, and for the benefit of all of us, beat Mike Christian severely for the next couple of hours. Then, they opened the door of the cell and threw him in. We cleaned him up as well as we could. The cell in which we lived had a concrete slab in the middle on which we slept Four naked light bulbs hung in each corner of the room. As I said, we tried to clean up Mike as well as we could. After the excitement died down, I looked in the corner of the room, and sitting there beneath that dim light bulb with a piece of red cloth, another shirt and his bamboo needle, was my friend, Mike Christian. He was sitting there with his eyes almost shut from the beating he had received, making another American flag. He was not making the flag because it made Mike Christian feel better. He was making that flag because he knew how important it was to us to be able to Pledge our allegiance to our flag and country. So the next time you say the Pledge of Allegiance, you must never forget the sacrifice and courage that thousands of Americans have made to build our nation and promote freedom around the world. You must remember our duty, our honor, and our country.' 'I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.'

Page 12The Virus

==========

Two men were diagnosed with a deadly virus. They were told thatthe cure would change their life forever. Their families might

disown them, and friends could turn their backs on them.

One man decided to decline the offer; he didn't want to be leftout of anything. At first everything seemed ok. He drank with

his friends and family and ignored what the doctors said.

Time went past and life took a turn for the worst. The virusbegan to consume his life. He had to quit his job and lost hissource of income. The people he called friends didn't help,they told him it was his problem not theirs. Everyday was a

struggle for life. His days were long and painful. On hisdeathbed his last words were, I should've taken the cure.

The other man decided to take the cure.

From then on his life changed. His family betrayed him, andsaid it was a waste of money. They didn't talk to him anymorebecause they didn't believe in what he was doing. His friends

left because he couldn't do all the stuff he used to do. Atfirst he cursed the doctors for the way people were treating

him.

After time he began to get better. He was getting promotedbecause he was able to focus on his job. His family apologizedfor the way they treated him. He got new friends that helpedhim daily. Life to him was a gift. He thanked God daily that

he decided to take that cure.

That virus is like our problems.

If we hold on to them and ignore them they will begin to consumeus. They will take over our life and no matter what we do, we

won't be able to get rid of them.

If we give our problems to God he can heal us.He is the cure for any problem we might have.

Yes we might be treated differently, but in the end we can saythank you God.

Just For TodayThy strength, oh Lord, just for this day

I pray you will impart.For me again renew my faith

As this new day I start.Reach out to me and keep thy hand

On everything I do.Direct my path to things undone

And guide my paths anew.Give me the patience that I need

To do for others nowThe things that you would have me do

And kindly show me how.Through doubts and fears, and heavy loads

I struggle on my way,Yet through the rugged path I know

That You are near today. You steer my feet and lift my heart

And make the light to shine.Then all my troubles, aches and pains

I gladly leave behind. Annie May Schrimsher

By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is the fruit of

our lips giving thanks to his name.

STOP BY AND SEE MIKE BERRY AND FAMILY!

KID’S CORNERSaying Grace in a Restaurant!

Last week, I took my children to a restaurant. My six-year-old son asked if he could say grace. As we bowed our heads he said,

"God is good, God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would even thank you more if Mom gets us ice cream for dessert. And Liberty

and justice for all! Amen!"Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby, I heard

a woman remark, "That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today don't even know how to pray. Asking God for ice cream!

Why, I never!"Hearing this, my son burst into tears and asked me,

"Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?"As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job, and

God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table. He winked at my son and said,

"I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer.""Really?" my son asked. "Cross my heart," the man replied.

Then, in a theatrical whisper, he added …. (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), "Too bad she never asks God for ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul

sometimes."Naturally, I bought my kids ice cream at the end of the meal. My son stared at his for a moment, and then did something I will remember

the rest of my life. He picked up his sundae and, without a word, walked over and placed it in front of the woman.

With a big smile he told her, "Here, this is for you.Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes;

and my soul is good already."

17 Years At Honda Of

MorristownOh, say, can you see, by the dawn’s early light,

What so proudly we hail’d at the twilight’s last gleaming?Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro’ the perilous fight,O’er the ramparts we watch’d, were so gallantly streaming?

And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,Gave proof thro’ the night that our flag was still there.

O say, does that star-spangled banner yet waveO’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?On the shore dimly seen thro’ the mists of the deep,

Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,

As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,

In full glory reflected, now shines on the stream:‘T is the star-spangled banner: O, long may it waveO’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly sworeThat the havoc of war and the battle’s confusionA home and a country should leave us no more?

Their blood has wash’d out their foul footsteps’ pollution.No refuge could save the hireling and slave

From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave:And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave

O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.O, thus be it ever when freemen shall stand,

Between their lov’d homes and the war’s desolation;Blest with vict’ry and peace, may the heav’n-rescued land

Praise the Pow’r that hath made and preserv’d us as a nation!Then conquer we must, when our cause is just,

And this be our motto: “In God is our trust”And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave

O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!Francis Scott Key

Thank You Friend

I never came to you, my friend,

and went away without

some new enrichment of the heart;

More faith and less of doubt,

more courage in the days ahead.

And often in great need coming to you,

I went away comforted indeed.

How can I find the shining word,

the glowing phrase that tells all that

your love has meant to me,

all that your friendship spells?

There is no word, no phrase for

you on whom I so depend.

All I can say to you is this,

God bless you precious friend.

“In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture

hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that

believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)”

* Words that soak into your ears are whispered...not yelled. * Meanness don't jes' happen overnight.

* Forgive your enemies. It messes up their heads.* Do not corner something that you know is meaner than you.

* It don't take a very big person to carry a grudge. * You cannot unsay a cruel word. * Every path has a few puddles.

* When you wallow with pigs, expect to get dirty.* The best sermons are lived, not preached.

* Most of the stuff people worry about ain't Never gonna happen anyway. * Don't judge folks by their relatives.

* Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.* Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get

“Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up

into everlasting life.”(John 4:13 - 14)

2 Chron. 7:14 in God's Word, He states, " If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and

will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

I am convinced that we must pray for our nation and its leaders and ask for for-giveness. So I ask you to join me in this plea to our Lord.

Would you please tell this to people that you know? Ask them to pray EVERY DAY. IMAGINE if each person reaches TEN others... Or all TWENTY FIVE!

If you do and they comply, we will lift up millions and millions of prayers a day to our Creator. He will hear us, and in faith will answer.

Here's a quote from Ronald Reagan: "If we ever forget that we are one nation under God,

then we will be a nation gone under."

I truly believe this is why the United States of America is in the shape it's in today.Most people have forgotten that we are ONE NATION UNDER GOD! Let us as

Christians stand up and remind people of this.
