PREFABRICATION FACILITIES FOR SHIPPING CONVERSION /

RETROFIT PROJECTS.

Gibdock provides the highest standard in shipyard services in one

of the most strategic locations in Europe. Located in Gibraltar,

between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, Gibdock offers

comprehensive repair, maintenance and conversion in its three dry

docks and protected deepwater port. Pad 1 adjoins the 435m long

south mole waterfront, which has an 11m draft, and includes a load-

out quay and draws on service craneage. The Pad 1 specialised

area has been constructed to provide Gibdock with an additional

2,940m2 of prime 12 tonnes per m2 load-bearing workspace, in

order to undertake land-based fabrication in support of large and

complex projects that are increasingly attracted to the yard.

PAD 1

RETROFIT PROJECTS

Downtime of vessels is signifi cantly reduced with the enhanced capacity for pre-fabrication and plant assembly that Pad 1 offers, especially for projects such as Exhaust Gas Cleaning ‘Scrubber’ and Ballast Water systems. Pad 1’s convenient location, alongside Gibdock’s Panamax dock, provides the ability to pre-fabricate substantial sections of a project and assemble specialist equipment prior to a vessel’s arrival, optimising the ‘downtime’ of a vessel throughout the project installation.

OIL & GAS FABRICATION

Gibdock has grown its business dramatically in the Oil & Gas / Offshore sector undertaking several dry dockings and conversions for DSV, PSV, Seismic, Cable and Pipe Laying vessels. Pad 1 delivers enhanced capabilities for larger projects with increased requirements for fabrication works. Pad 1 also supports straight fabrication works for the Oil & Gas industry and associated non-fl oating structures. The high load-bearing feature of Pad 1 allows it to support works on very heavy projects.

CONVERSION PROJECTS

Pad 1 offers the opportunity to accommodate conversion projects where smaller fabrication is developed at the yard. Smaller sections can be developed in Gibdock’s onsite 8,000m2 workshop and assembled on Pad 1, presenting the capability for sections to be lifted into position in a single lift.

SEISMIC PROJECTS

Pad 1 is a natural progression of Gibdock’s facilities in support of seismic conversion works for spooling of streamers as well as other general seismic projects.
