Looking to the future, what issues, trends or technological developments do you believeare shaping the METS sector?

We have come a long way since the launch of Talpac—our first mining solutions haulage productivity tool—morethan 40 years ago. This was at the foundation of HAULSIM, now a leading whole of fleet tool which enablescompanies access to simulation in a way that was not possible a mere 10 years ago. Like the shift from paper maps to GPS, the transition from desktop solutions to enterprise and cloud is critical toalign to the data rich environment and we are proud to be at the forefront of this change. We have also been able to acquire companies which fit our portfolio. We have then added the required expertiseand capital to help take them to the next level of execution which has been extremely rewarding.

Reflecting on your company's history, what are your proudest achievements? This year has been particularly exciting, marking 50 years of RPMGlobal delivering premier consulting and advisory services to the mining industry. We’ve helped emerging economies adopt more progressive mining solutions which are safer and have, in turn, reduced mining impact. We have also been able to accelerate the development of new products and services aligned to industry needs.

On a technology front:

There is going to be a major war for talent. Not just any talent, but those leaders who can truly make a difference in joining the dots in connected systems.Automation will accelerate and with it, the need for a level of precision in planning which is unprecedented. Get your systems and people ready. Data will initially bog things down unless you truly have a plan for how to harness it in a way which empowers people and drives innovation. Mining companies, and indeed our whole industry, will face up to the undeniable fact that we need to earn and maintain the social licence to operate. Harnessing technology can assist in this task by making operations safer, more environmentally secure and more productive. It’s important that we make the mining industry as good as it can be with the tools available now, and into the future, and RPMGlobal is part of that story. We also need better alignment between operations through to the boardroom. This demands availability and accessibility of trusted data at every level of an organisation. Intelligent mining is the future of the industry, and RPMGlobal is helping create new benchmarks for the software of the future.

We see connected information to enhance decision-making as being critical to the success

of the METS sector. As the challenges the industry faces continue to increase in

complexity over the coming years, it's critical to have reliable, accessible information to make

decisions in line with a robust achievable plan.- Richard Mathews, Chief Executive Officer &
