GETTING TO KNOW YOUR PRIEST!!! Father Lalo was born on April 3 in the city of Chihuahua, Mexico. He is the
oldest of four brothers. His parents, Lalo and Agustina, have lived in the city of Albu-
querque for more than 20 years and their three sisters, Cecilia, Mariel and María live
in the city of Denver, Colorado. Since he was young he always felt the call to offer his
life to God, but at the same time he always felt the desire to live the experiences and
challenges of any young person before entering the seminary. It was thus that, to-
gether with his spiritual director, he was always discerning what was the best mo-
ment to be able to go to the seminary life in a conscious, free and full way. And it
was then that when he finished his Bachelor of Arts he decided to take up that chal-
lenge and left to begin his formation in the Congregation of Canossian Sons of Chari-
ty in the city of Ribeirao Preto, São Paulo, Brazil. Country that loves unconditionally
and in which it remained for more than 20 years.
In 2008, he was sent to study Charismatic Spirituality in Italy. He was or-
dained a deacon on March 7, 2009 in the city of Piabeta in the state of Rio de Janeiro and ordained a priest on November 7,
2009 in the aforementioned city under the hands of Archbishop Filippo Santoro, Archbishop of Petropolis -RJ- . Regarding his
pastoral experience, he was parochial vicar in the Parish of San Sebastian in the city of Piabeta -RJ- from 2009 to 2010, after
which he was named parish priest of the parish of Sao José Worker, in the city of Santa Rita do Passa Quatro. He was in São
Paulo Brazil from 2010 to 2014. In that same year he was incardinated to the Archdiocese of Ribeirao Preto to join the Mis-
sionary work project in the Amazon Rainforest and from 2015 to 2018 he remained in that project exercising the role of par-
ish priest in the parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, in the city of Careiro da Varzea, in the state of Amazonas in Brazil.
Since May 2018 he was appointed associate pastor of the Our Lady of Sorrows parish in the city of Las Vegas, NM and since
December 2018, has been at the Sacred Heart of Jesus parish here in Clovis as Temporary Parish Administrator.
In addition to exercising his role as parish priest, he was also a teacher of the formation institutes for future parents
as well as lay people who wanted a specialization and a deeper formation in the human and theological area. From 2015 to
2018 he was a professor at ITEPES (Institute of Theology, Pastoral and Higher Education of the Amazon) Institute. This is
where the future parents of the North Region 1 of Brazil are prepared. In that institute he was a professor of Christology,
Revelation, Introduction to Theology, Homiletics and Fundamental Morality. He was also a professor in the AAPEC
(Amazonian Association for Research and Christian Education), being a professor of Pastoral Theology.
He was a member of the presbyterial and pastoral council in the Archdiocese of Ribeirao Preto, Denary, Spiritual
director at the San Jose Seminary in Manaus, responsible for several social projects such as: The Amigo and Amici di Piabeta
project among others.
In regards to his academic life, Father Lalo has a BA in Spanish Literature from UACH (Autonomous University of Chi-
huahua), Graduate in Philosophy from CEARP (Center for Studies of the Archdiocese of Ribeirao Preto), Graduate in Theolo-
gy from Our Lady of the Assumption School in San Pablo, Brazil; Master in Psychology from the USP (University of Sao Paulo)
and has intensive courses in Human and Integral Formation by the IFHIM (Institute of Human and Integral Formation of
Montreal, Canada) as well as in Spirituality.
He is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and Italian and is currently perfecting his English. And as of May 15, 2019, as-
sumes pastoral responsibility of the Sacred Heart of Jesus here in Clovis as Parochial Administrator for the next few years.
Let us support and receive him with great affection as our new pastor so that together we can walk and build a parish that is
a true family.

Clergy Abuse
In an effort to more thoroughly care for and expedite the healing process of our Catholic brothers
and sisters who have been victims of clerical abuse, Archbishop Wester is requiring us to reach
out to our parishioners. If you have been a victim of clerical abuse during your life regardless of
parish or diocese, please call the church office with your name and contact information. Fr. Lalo
will then contact you to speak with you about your experience. Please remember that your
involvement in this healing process is entirely confidential.
Memorial Day!!!
Memorial Day in on Monday, May 27th. This is not
only a national holiday but also an Archdiocesan hol-
iday as well. This means the office will be closed on
Memorial Day. Please forgive the inconvenience. It
would behoove you to take this opportunity to pray
for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice while in
service of this great country.
“No one has greater love than this, to lay down
one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13
Church League Softball Practice Our church league softball team/s have begun practicing. Please listen for announcements at Mass for dates, times, and location. All practices and games will take place on Guy
Leeder Field here in Clovis. We are looking forward to a fun and successful year of softball amongst our fellow brothers in Christ. Bring your equipment and
your registration fee to practice as they are due by the beginning of the season.

Abuso Clerical
cia. Recuérden que su participación en este pro-
ceso es completamente confidencial.
La Ascensión
La Ascensión de nuestro Señor
es un día santo de obligación.
Este día será observado jueves,
el 30 de mayo. Sin embargo,
este es un día movible y en su
lugar se celebrará domingo, el 2
de junio. Como los otros días
santos de obligación, tenemos
que asistir esta Misa porque
somos seguidores de Jesucristo.
2019 Clase de Confirmación
Una vez mas queremos dar muchísimas
gracias a todos que participaron en este
proceso de Confirmación. ¡A todos los
maestros, padres, padrinos, cleros, monagui-
llos, lectores, fotógrafos, cocineros, volunta-

posible este sacramento algo bien memora-
ble, muchísimas gracias! Esto no hubiera
sido posible sin tus servicios desinteresados.
¡Bienvenidos Padre Lalo!
Queremos dar a Padre Lalo un muy cálida
bienvenida a nuestra parroquia. El asumió la
responsabilidad pastoral de la iglesia del
Sagrado Corazón miércoles, el 15 de mayo
oficialmente.
Arquidiocesana. Por esta razón, la
oficina de la iglesia será cerrado
por el Día Conmemorativo. Dis-
cúlpenos la inconveniencia.
