Answer: Yes you can have both Exchange Online and on-prem in the same environment. This is call a hybrid

environment. and is common during migration, but some customers will continue with a hybrid environment. Yes you

can retain your Exchange on-premises setup and deploy other components in the cloud. This is common for

customers currently using Exchange, but not Lync, SharePoint, etc.

Answer: No it validates the DNS record to see if you own the domain.

Question: This was a very good presentation. If you were to do it again I would suggesting touching on the subject of

migration from non-Exchange on-premises products (my company uses Lotus Notes). Also in the early part of the

presentation, you mentioned linking to an on-premises Active Directory. I would have liked to have a bit more detail

on that or a link.
