APPLICATION QUESTIONS (cont.)

Week #13 – Apr 25/26 - SPRING 2020 Page 2

Read Psalm 32:8-11 2) It is easy to hear that God forgives, but why is it so hard to forgive others?

Read 1 John 1:8 3) Here in this verse, John attacks false teachers who claim that people have no natural

tendency toward sin. Some so-called Christians claim to have reached a higher spiritual plane

where sin no longer exists. Why do people have difficulty acknowledging the sin in their life?

Read 1 John 1:9

4) Many Christians do have difficulty confessing sin. What are the steps to asking for

forgiveness of sins?

APPLICATION QUESTIONS (cont.)

Week #13 – Apr 25/26 - SPRING 2020 Page 3

Read 1 John 1:10

5) The person John speaks of in this verse believes they never sin and never have sinned. Why

do people who are bitter and offer no forgiveness to the offender view themselves as righteous?

In other words, “it’s not my fault, I did nothing wrong”.

Read Hebrews 12:15

6) What can happen to unforgiveness? How does unforgiveness spill over into our other

relationships? `
