ABOUT US
Introducing ourselves
AMS stands for Automatic Machinery building with Systems and was founded in 1994.
Since then we have been engaged in the construction of machines for swing stopper bottles.
The two company founders were initially working in the machine building industry when their attention was
drawn to the need of a special machine to close swing stopper bottles at speed. A patent for a swing
stopper closing machine was submitted in 1995, which is unique in the world with its design and compact
construction. In 1996, the first swing stopper closing machines were sold in France and Germany. In the
following years productivity in the company was doubled and the sales figures increased. Almost all of our
closing machines and systems have been exported outside of Austria. Our employees have several years of
experience in the construction, production and maintenance of AMS machines, and we place their
competence, knowledge and capabilities at the disposal and service of our customers.

SWING STOPPER MOUNTING MACHINE
This system automatically mounts the swing stoppers on the bottles. There are two loading options; the
swing stoppers can be fed manually into the machine by hand or automatically fed from the separating
machine.

Functional description
Bottle-feed
Sensors on the conveyor detect the
arrival of the bottles and automatically
start the assembly process.
Bottle-transport
The main star takes the bottle from
the conveyor and places it on the
turntable.
Mounting process
The turntable moves up and pushes
the bottle against the locating pin [1].
A secondary tracer pin [2] moves to
the rotating bottle. It turns on the bottle
head until it finds the hole for the
clasp. Now, the bottle is correctly
oriented the stopper is automatically
mounted to the bottle. The main star
then gives the bottle back to the
conveyor.
When the bottle has an orientation
notch located on the base it can be
aligned using the turntable.
This means the tracer pin is not
required and the bottle can be aligned
quicker.

SEPARATING MACHINE
This system sorts and separates the swing stoppers. The stoppers (supplied in cartons or bags) are emptied
on to a conveyor belt and sorted by the drum. The stoppers fall on to the process conveyor, are picked-up by
a robotic arm and loaded into the chain conveyor. Before being mounted by the swing stopper mounting
machine the stoppers pass through a turning rail, ensuring the swing stopper is correctly orientated for
mounting.

Functional description
Swing stopper distributor
The stoppers are placed on the conveyor
belt ready for loading. A volume detection
system located within the sorting drum
controls the feed rate ensuring the number
of swing stoppers present within in the drum
is held a constant level.
Seperation
As the drum rotates swing stoppers fall one by one through slots and land on to the process conveyor below.

Transfer
The swing stoppers are then passed under a camera
system which recognises the position and orientation
of individual swing stoppers and sends the coordinates
to the handling system. The parallel kinematic robotic
tripod picks up the swing stoppers and places them on
the chain conveyor. Swing stoppers that are
misaligned or are still tangled in another are left by the
tripod and are returned to the drum by a conveyor.
Turning rail
The swing stoppers on the chain conveyor are transported to the mounting machine. Before being mounted
to the bottle, the orientation of the swing stopper is checked by a sensor and if necessary the turning rail
rotates the swing stopper through 180 degrees.

Why AMS?
Our systems have a high standard of safety and
quality. The format parts are specifically
designed to fit your bottle size.
All elements of the machine are made of
stainless steel (1.4301) or of plastic with the
best storage capabilities. Impurities or
contamination can be rinsed off with hot water
(up to 90°C).
A simple change of modular components
The process components on the machine are
modular. They are fixed to the system with
clamping levers and can be interchanged to suit
various bottle sizes. This facilitates quick and
accurate replacement of process parts. In case
of multiple bottle types, the clamping levers are
clearly identified using a colour coordinated
system to prevent incorrect mounting.
Safety barrier
The system is fitted as standard with a transparent safety barrier made of single-pane safety glass (SSG) in
accordance with DIN 12150-1. Reducing noise emissions and isolating the operator from the hazard zone.
If desired, we also offer the enclosure with composite safety glass (CSG) in accordance with DIN 12543-2.
Benefits of CSG: - CSG is a laminate safety glass that does not shatter when broken, reducing the risk of
injury in case of an accident.

with a built-in touch-screen.

on the signal pillar.
