If you are mounting your XL 650 directly to yourbench, use the mounting
holes in the frame as a tem-plate. Use 1/4” diameter
bolts (not included) to attachyour machine to your bench.Use washers on the top andbottom. Use a 5/16” drill(aka “drill bit”) to drill theholes in your bench. Do notuse wood screws to securethe machine to your bench. If you are using the XL 650Strong Mount accessory,
refer to the instructions thatcame with it.
Place the Chute/BinBracket on the right
side of the machine asyou are bolting the
machine to the bench.(Note: From this pointon, we will be usingan XL 650 StrongMount for ease ofphotography.)
Place a 5/32” Allenwrench or a screwdriver through the
hole in the handle tohold it while youtighten the lock nutusing a 7/8” (or an adjustable)
wrench.
Remove the washerand lock nut from thehandle assembly.
Hold the washer overthe hole in the rightside of the crank andinsert the handle.
Start the lock nut onthe handle with your
fingers.
Operate the handleand raise the plat-
form. Slide the spentprimer cup onto therails as shown. Makesure that it’s seated on

Use a 5/32” Allen wrench to loosen the two collar clamp screws on the powder measure and remove thepowder die. Place the powder funnel (packed in the same bag as the casefeed tube adapter) into the powder die withthe grooved end toward the top of the powder die as shown. The powder funnel should move up and down freely.
If you ordered yourXL 650 with the
optional automaticcasefeed assembly, please refer to the
instructions that camewith it. If not, attachthe casefeed tube
bracket (found in theprimer tube pack) tothe upper hole in thecasefeed post as
shown.
The casefeed tubeadapter was in a bag temporarily attachedto the toolhead of themachine before it wasshipped. Now, youcan attach it to thecasefeed body. Notehow the key molded
into the casefeed tubeadapter fits into the
notch on the casefeedbody.
Place the bottomopening of the case-feed tube – the stickeris nearer the top ofthe tube – into the
casefeed tube adapterand snap the top endinto the casefeed tube
bracket.
Using a 5/32” Allen wrench, tighten the casefeed tubebracket to the casefeed post as shown. Again, if you
have an automatic casefeed assembly, you won’t needto use the casefeed tube bracket.

Properly installed, the rod lines up as shown in photo28. Install the bushing, spring and blue wing nut as
shown. NOTE: This rod does not activate the powder measure. You must have a case in Station 2 to drop powder. This is ad-
dressed in the XL 650 instruction manual.
Place the powderdie/funnel
assembly into position on stationtwo of the XL 650toolhead andscrew it intoplace. A good
starting point is toalign the bottomof the die flush
with the bottom ofthe toolhead.
Photo 22 showsthe powder
die/funnel assem-bly in place onstation two.Leave the dielock ring loose
for now and referto the XL 650 instruction
manual for finaladjustments toyour powdermeasure.
Reinstall the powder measure onto the powder die and finger-tighten the collar clamp screws. The top of thefailsafe rod has a double 90-degree bend. Insert the top end of the rod first through the slotted hole in the rearlock-link, then through the small round hole in the front lock-link. The bottom of the rod fits into the failsafe
return bracket as shown in photo 27.

form at stations 3, 4 and 5.
These buttons retain the cartridge cases during loadingand provide an easy way to remove a case at any
stage without disturbing the other rounds.
Place the AAA battery that camewith the Low Primer Alarm into the
housing positive end up. Then, push the Low Primer Alarmonto the knurled cap at the top ofthe primer shield as shown in
photos 33 and 34.
