Get a licensed electrician to wire your house. The cost for rewiring will depend on the number of points (sockets, switches, etc) in your house, as well as material and labour cost. Make sure you shop around to get the best price.

Have your wiring certified by the Government Electrical Inspector (GEI). Your electrician will make arrangements for this to be done by contacting the Ministry of Energy. Please note that the average GEI Fee is approximately $2,000, and it could take up to four weeks for the GEI Certificate to be sent to JPS.

Apply to JPS for a Contract for Service. Once the property is certified by the GEI, you can apply to JPS for service. Please take the following with you when you go to the JPS office to make your application.
