The GES-162 switch automatically detects jumbo frames on Gigabit Ethernet and supports jumbo frames of up to 9KBytes, dramatically improving transmission speed.

In order to use this function, you need to set Jumbo frame in both network device and PC card.

- Normal Frame : You can transfer up to 1.5KBytes of capacity at a time.For example, when 8KB data is transmitted, it is transmitted over 6 times in units of 1.5KB.

- Jumbo Frame : You can transfer up to 9KBytes of capacity at a time.For example, 8KB data transfer is less than 9KB, so it is transmitted once.* 6 times faster than normal frame per unit time.

Link aggregation (LACP)It groups multiple physical ports into groups, logically recognizes them as a single port, increases bandwidth, and uses them for various failover purposes.

Spanning Tree Protocol (STP)This is a technique to prevent loops that occur when there are multiple routing paths in a network environment consisting of switches.

In order to prevent the loop phenomenon, STP is used to cut off some paths when the paths between the switches are circulated. In this case, the path that is used is restored to the path that was disconnected in case of failure, so that continuous communication is possible.

EthernetIt is the most typical bus structure LAN (Local Area Network). It is the network confi guration method which occupies the vast majority in the short distance communication environment such as offi ce, school and so on.

Switch & HubThe hub acts as a simple repeater.

Because it does not store the MAC address of the connected device, it sends out packets to all devices connected to the hub, wasting a lot of bandwidth.

The switch stores the MAC address (MAC table) and transmits the signal only to the destination, so the bandwidth of the line can be fully used.

In other words, the more nodes connected and the more important the performance, the more you must use the switch.

L2 Switch

Switching based on MAC information performs switching functions such as Ethernet and Frame Relay, which are protocols of Layer 2 layer (Datalink).

LAN & WANThe LAN is a local area network. The internal network and the intranet belong here and are confi gured through switches, NIC (Network Interface Card, LAN card), and UTP cable.

A wide area network (WAN) is an external network, the Internet belongs here, and a router is added to the external network and the Internet confi guration to lease the line to an ISP.

Unmanaged SwitchUnmanaged switches do not have an operating system and UI to control the device, so they faithfully perform the functions of the switch itself.Because it is low cost and does not require a separate setup process, it is advantageous that you can operate it simply by connecting through Plug & Play (PnP).

The GES-162 switch can withstand the appropriate temperature, humidity and shock. It is suitable for industrial equipment which needs low power, low heat and low noise operation.

Giga BitThe next version of 100Base-TX standard, 100Mbps, which has a speed of 1000Mbps or higher.

Theoretically, you can get about 125MB of data per second at 10 times faster than a 100 Mbps network, but in fact, it is 3-5 times faster than the 100Mbps communication speed due to data processing and disk I / O.

When confi guring a Gigabit network environment, you can expect higher performance if you also confi gure Jumbo Frames.

In order to use this function, both the network device and the PC card used must support Gigabit Ethernet.

APPLICATIONS

(1) Factory Complex (Network Converter + GES-162)In order to operate the broadcasting system of the large - scale factory complex in a stable manner, the optical communication network was constructed through the SFP terminal of GES-162. The ring topology can be used to neutralize the optical network and to operate the broadcasting system reliably in case of emergency or communication problems.

In order to control the detailed area within the factory complex, the GES-162 can be used as a network convertersystem to work with 6000 systems installed in each region.

(4) CCTV Broadcasting SystemIf CCTV is used to manage outlying areas, the GES-162 can send and receive video and broadcasting systems for integrated management.

The images transmitted by the IP camera are managed through the control room, and the 6000 system can transmit the self-broadcasting of each region for guidance / emergency broadcasting.
