Saturday 18th July: pERTh-MuniCh Emirates flight departs Perth – arriving into Munich 8.50pm.

Transfer to your hotel.

Hotel: 4 star hotel – Mercure Munchen City Centre (or similar) (2 nights)

Sunday 19th July: MuNICH Breakfast in hotel.

Morning visit to BMW world and city tour (includes lunch).

Munich is a very lively and vibrant city which offers Bavarian tradition on one hand and international flair on the other.

Your tour will take in the well preserved and restored old centre of the city, viewing the beautiful buildings known as the "Rathaus", and the "Frauenkirche". The two towers of the Frauenkirche are the symbol of the city.

Free evening - Munich hotel as above. (B,L)

Monday 20th July: hEidELBERG-FRAnkFuRT Breakfast in hotel before check out and transfer on to Heidelberg. Prior

to check in, you will have a guided city tour of this fascinating city.

Heidelberg is a popular destination due to its romantic and picturesque cityscape including the Heidelberg Castle, Germany's oldest university and the baroque style Old Town. Heidelberg is also a modern location of science, trade and industry. (B)

Tuesday 21st July: FRANkFuRT Breakfast in hotel. You will travel to Frankfurt for a day hosted by Bayer

Herbicide division, followed by a group dinner in a local traditional restaurant. Overnight in Heidelberg as previous. (B,D)

Wednesday 22nd July: HEIDELBERG-BRuSSELS After an early breakfast in hotel, transfer to Brussels.

Apart from its famous chocolates and beers there are many attractions to see and experience in Brussels. It is the centre of European culture, officially nicknamed "the European Village" with almost 90 museums, beautiful parks, fascinating walks, and trendy restaurants and bars. You will have some free time to discover the Belgian capital and visit the Parliamentarian on your own. (B)

Thursday 23rd July: BRussELs-BRuGEs Breakfast in hotel. Transfer to Ghent.

Today you will be hosted by Bayer Ghent Seed Division Belgium

– Tour of Astene Breeding Station including DH Lab, Greenhouses and facilities.

– Presentation on breeding and general EU Business/Product Development activities.

YOuR ITINERARY

Ghent Research lab tour:

– Tour of the Ghent research facility where the majority of our molecular/genetic lab activities take place.

– Presentation on current activities and Bayer's research objectives.

After lunch continue onto Bruges for guided city tour and group dinner at local brewhouse including beer tasting. (B, D)

Hotel: 4 star Hotel Bruges (4 nights)

Friday 24th July: POPERINGE REGION Breakfast in hotel.

Today you will tour Poperinge – the Flemish region of Belgium with history going back to mediaeval times. This area is famous for its hops and lace. You will also visit Flanders Field – for 4 years the scene of the First World War. The landscape of this region still tells the story of war with hundreds of monuments and cemeteries of great historical significance. You will visit Museum of Trenches and The Australian Military Cemetery.

Saturday 25th July: BRuGES Breakfast in hotel. Free day to enjoy the wonderful city of Bruges at

your leisure. Overnight in Bruges as previous. (B)

Sunday 26th July: DAY TOuR TO ANTWERP Breakfast in hotel. Travel to Antwerp to see Belgium's finest Gothic

cathedrals and the UNESCO World Heritage Museum - Plantin-Moretus, whose medieval building & 1622 courtyard garden is worth the visit alone.

Overnight in Bruges as previous. (B)

Monday 27th July: LIBRAMONT FAIR – LIEGE Breakfast in hotel. Check out and travel to Liege. En route you will stop

at the Libramont Agricultural Fair. This agri-food fair is a huge open air exhibition welcoming 200,000 visitors together with 1800 exhibitors. This is an outstanding showcase for the rural community – represented by exhibitors and brands from machinery, livestock breeding, forestry, the agrifood industry horticulture, research, education and culture.

End of the day – continue on to Liege to check into your hotel and enjoy an evening of leisure. (B)

Tuesday 28th July: LIEGE – COLOGNE Breakfast in hotel. Free morning before we check out and commence

our journey to Cologne. On the way enjoy a picnic lunch in the

gardens of Chateau de Jehay. After lunch a visit to the University of Liege "Quality Farming Product Unit - helping farmers to diversify".

Continue onto Cologne. (B,L)

Wednesday 29th July: BONN Breakfast in hotel and travel to Bonn to meet with the German Mills

Federation. Bonn is also the home of Beethoven where you can plan to enjoy an afternoon of musical interaction.

Return to Cologne for an evening at your leisure and overnight at hotel as previous. (B)

Thursday 30th July: COLOGNE Breakfast in hotel. Today will be hosted by Bayer LeverKusen/Monheim,

Germany (program to be finalised with a focus on product development and manufacturing). Overnight in Cologne as previous. (B)

Friday 31st July: RHINE RIVER CRuISE Breakfast in hotel before a morning cruise on the Rhine River. This is

the absolute best way to enjoy the Cologne panorama!

After lunch a guided walking tour of the city including Roman ruins and the world famous Gothic Cathedral of Cologne – one of the best known architectural sights in Germany. The city of Cologne is known for its 2,000 year old history, its cultural and architectural heritage and for its important international events.

Saturday 1st August: ERFuT After breakfast in hotel you travel toward the Eastern region of

Germany to Erfut. En route we visit a large co-operative farm.

On arrival in Erfut a guided city tour will showcase the capital of Thuringia. A city of flowers and horticulture and where Martin Luther lived and studied. This city is also home to a number of historical Jewish sites. (B)

Sunday 2nd August: ERFuT After breakfast in hotel you will spend the day visiting large cereal

producing farms (medical plants, spices, pigs, dairy cows and a farm shop) together with a high tech malt producer. Return to Erfut for an evening of leisure.

Monday 3rd August: DRESDEN Breakfast in hotel before you travel to Dresden - en route you will visit

a renowned female grower of cereal crops (wheat, barley oil seed rape) Continue onto the Radebeul Region for lunch and wine tasting at a local wine producer. (B,L)

Tuesday 4th August: DRESDEN – ELBE RIVER CRuISE Breakfast in hotel followed by a guided city tour including a visit to the

world famous Frauenkirche. Dresden is called "northern Florence" after a scenic reconstruction of the old town in the 18th century. The chosen style corresponds with the importance of the Saxon capital.

The effects of the huge destruction caused by allied bombs in February 1945 can still be seen in some parts; however many of the most beautiful buildings were successfully and carefully reconstructed.

After lunch you will enjoy a boat cruise on the Elbe River on one of Sachsische Dampfschiffahrt's fleet of historic paddle steamers. Journey through the UNESCO world heritage Elbe valley whilst enjoying the steam whistles, the rhythmic huffing of the hard working steam engines and the watery splashes of the paddle wheels.

Return to Dresden by bus for an evening of leisure. Overnight Dresden as previous. (B,L)

Wednesday 5th August: PRAGuE After breakfast in hotel you commence your journey to the final

destination – the magnificent city of Prague in the Czech Republic. Along the way we will visit Goranson Organic Farm and stop at a local brewery for lunch and tastings.

On arrival in Prague we will have a guided tour for an overview of this city with its two city centres – the upper with Hradcyn (Kings castle) monasteries and Golden Lane and the lower part with Charles Bridge, the Town Hall and Jewish Quarter. The dramatic history of Prague is reflected in the beauty of its buildings. Once the seat of a mighty medieval empire. Prague is an open air museum best explored on foot. Opera and classical concerts are other highlights, with performances held in Prague's stunning opera houses, magnificent concert halls and historic churches. Prague also has unique theatre performances and finally, there is food and drink! Prague restaurants have a reputation for offering good, often excellent cuisine in lovely settings, ranging from candlelit cellars to rooftop eateries with fine views over the city & of course, there is the world famous Czech beer. Thursday 6th August: PRAGuE Breakfast in hotel. A completely free day to tour the city at your own

pace. This evening a farewell group dinner in a local traditional restaurant. (B,D)

Friday 7th August: PRAGuE – PERTH After breakfast in hotel, check out and transfer to the airport for return

flight to Perth. (B)
