…). …). In Slovenia 65 % of all

geothermal potential is stored in NE part called Prekmurje. There are two different termal water sources:

        Lower temperature system with temperatures ranging from 30-70 °C ( exploited )( exploited )

        High temperature system with temperatures ranging from 180-200 °C ( not used )( not used )

 

There are 66 geothermal geothermal wells wells in the Moravske Toplice spa system from which thermo mineral water is produced.

-         appropriate geochemical characteristics of the geothermal water-         short distance form the well and the consumer

 

• Geothermal water well and degassing pump in Moravske Toplice. Behind it can be seen the water steam of the geothermal "waste" water"waste" water with T=35°C.T=35°C.

Chemical characteristics of the geothermal water

• Water from the wells Mt-1, Mt-4 and Mt-5 contain higher values of organic organic substancessubstances

• Water from the wells Mt-2, Mt-6 and Mt-7 is almost without organic substances

• Wather from all wells contain higher values of the sulphursulphur,, methanemethane, , COCO22 and and

CaCOCaCO33

• COCO22 helps water to

erupt (gas uplifting)

• Excess of Excess of CaCOCaCO33 is

precipitated and removed from geothermal water

• MethaneMethane and hydrogene sulphidehydrogene sulphide are not treated separately

CURRENT GEOTHERMAL ENERGY USE

• 70 °C geothermal water exits the wells

• 28°C geothermal water flow into the stream as “waste water”

Vegetables production in greenhousesgreenhouses during the winter. Geothermal water is circulating

through water pipes and produces heat energy.

Other possible uses of geothermal water which could be explored from geothermal

water • COCO

22 could be used for

better plants growth in the greenhouses

• COCO22 prevent CaCO3

precipitation and saves heat exchangers pipes

• COCO22 production

• energy production from mmethaneethane
