Our future? George Haydock

Presentation Notes
What is the critical temperature of common f-gages such as R410A?

What’s the problem with that?

40°C + 20°C = 60°C Ambient Rejected Heat Air Off

Premier Pleads! To turn off appliances1

Which one is he pleading for?

1Morton, A, Brumby warned of power shortage October 16, 2009, accessed on 04 of Nov 2014 via http://www.theage.com.au/national/brumby-warned-of-power-shortage-20091015-gz5w.html

Are we going to continue down this path. We’re just going to turn off our air cons when it gets hot?

What’s the answer?

Presenter
Presentation Notes
How about we change them old fix speed ac to inverter units that run on natural refrigerants. The critical temp for Hydrocarbon refrigerants is 30% higher that fgas refrigerants like R410a so that fixes the problem of a hot day Hydrocarbon refrigerants can absorb up to twice as much heat energy than Fgases They are natural so there better for the environment than chemical refrigerants. They are cheaper than Fgases.

Why is this the answer?

Presenter
Presentation Notes
To give you an idea pioneer did a simple no nonsense test with three 16kW air-conditioning units and a clamp meter.

Why?

Hydrocarbons refrigerants… why?

Their critical temperature is 30% higher then F-gases like R410A

They can absorb up to 2 times as much heat energy

They can absorb up to 2 times as much heat energy

They’re 100% natural because they’re part of the natural environment

… ohh and they’re cheaper by multiples.

Still don’t believe me Here is a real world example… not just theories.

Imagine what the saving would be to the power grid if change all them old fixed units over to inverter units running on hydrocarbon refrigerants.

How’s your mother?

Let’s Think Shopping Centres Case Study:

Campbelltown Market Fair

Shopping Centre

3 Little Problems

1. Getting Access to the roof top units

3 Little Problems

1. Getting Access to the roof top units

2. Shopping centre was to keep open during upgrade with no tenant suspension

2. Shopping centre was to keep open during upgrade with no tenant suspension

3. The owner could only raise 50% of the quote to replace the units with new R410A package units

Now its your turn to be a Hero and save the world

Presentation Notes
We can build inverter air-conditioning units that run on Hydrocarbon refrigerants that save 70% on power consumption and cost no more that standard inverter air-conditioning units. We can also build retrofit solutions that save 70% on power and 30-50% on capital investment. But need to create a new way of thinking a new mindset.

High Level Problem Solving

What was achieved?

A rebuilt air conditioner system with a 5 year warranty
