GEOLOGY OF ORE MOUNTAIN PROPERTY
CLAIM EO 582183 - BARRIE TOWNSHIP
The claim area is underlain mainly by four rock types. These are,
from north to south, intermediate metavolcanic rocks, hornblende-biotite
schists, quartzites and meta-conglomerates. These rock units are
sub-parallel to the schistosity which is roughly ENE-trending, dipping
moderately to steeply to the north.
The writer visited three workings on the claim, one of which was major.
A shaft 3 m. square x 5 m. deep was sunk at the southern contact of the
interned ia*-1* vnlaanics. which appear to be medium to coarse pyroclastics.
It was evident that the shaft went deeper than the present floor, which
consists of timbers and rubble. The amount of material on the dump suggests
that the shaft may be twice its present depth. The rocks within the shaft
are predominately pyroclastic, however, some pyritic, calcareous hornblende-
biotite schists bearing concordant and discordant quartz and/or carbonate veinlets
occur in the southern part of the shaft. The schist unit is apparently
discontinuous laterally, and its thickness south of the shaft does not exceed
25 m. In this interval quartzite is locally intercalated with the schist.
Some shearing may have occured in the schist unit in the area of the shaft.
One of the minor workings consists of a pit 3 m. square x 1.5 m . deep
which was excavated to investigate a 25 m. thick discordant quartz vein occuring
in grey quartzite. Minor pyrite occurs within the quartzite at this location.
Approximately 40 m. to the west a narrow trench was excavated accross the
quartz vein, however no significant mineralization was observed here.
The quartzite unit on the claim does not exceed 50 m. in thickness. To the
south occurs clast-supported conglomerate dominated by quartzite clasts in the
granule to cobble size range.

RE; Your File 2-5031 EO 582183 Barrie Township
Dear Sir*
With regard to your letter of July 14, 1983 and to our subsequent telephone conversation, the following information is submitted i
The geological report as submitted was not intended as a complete geological report, but rather was of a preliminary nature to provide background and geological substance to complement other ongoing work. I have reviewed pages 7 t o 12 of Requirements for Submitting Geophysical, Geological and Geochem Reports, as you suggested, and I find the work done to date to be substantially in compliance. Further geological work will be necessary in the future to complement future work, with accompanying report at that time. I am fully aware that the maximum credits for geological work is ^0 days. However, I can anticipate that the total amount of geological work will be far in excess, even though not claimable.
James R. Bartlett, the author of the report is a fully qualified geologist - B,Se. Geology and subsequent Master's degree "with distinction" from Carlton University. His work experience has included Shell Resources, Ontario Geological Survey (flying Loon Lake, Belmont Township, Marmora Township) and is currently with Camchib Resources in Quebec. His signature appears on the original hand written report, but not the typed copy as submitted.
As time is of the essence, this letter and a copy of the report are being sent now, with blueprints of the map to follow.
Yours truly,
Stephen J. Bartlett RECEIVEDAUG 51983
