A SENSE OF PLACE This project is meant to establish a Sense of Place for El Paso by using all the Units of Study in AP Human Geography as well as focusing on the specific concepts of Urban Geography. What makes El Paso unique and a great place to live? (Not all terms in the Urban Examples are in your vocabulary. Be sure to do some research first!) Instead of collecting objects for this scavenger hunt, each team (1, 2, or 3 people) will collect pictures with at least one member of the team standing in front of the 30 listed locations. Each team will then create a media presentation (PowerPoint is NOT allowed). Examples of great media options include, but are not limited to: Tackk Sway via Office 365 Powtoon, PhotoStory3, Prezi Animoto or any other comparable software program (do a Google search for “instead of PowerPoint” and the first 2 links have other programs you may use.) Each picture must have an explanation or narration that gives background information about the place that is not evident from the picture. For example, when was the building built and after whom was it named? Also, include what specific unit of study you can apply the picture to. Any vocabulary terms you can tie together? Concepts learned?
