HYDROGRAPHIC SURVEY INTERPRETATION AND DESK TOP STUDY SERVICES

Geo-Marine Technology Inc. (GMT) is proud to specialize in desk top study compilation/publication as well as the evaluation of hydrographic survey data, geophysical exploration data, and published information sources in order to generate superior quality geologic hazards and hydrographic interpretations for the offshore oil and cable industries. Our products comply with International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) standards and with industry-standard hazards and archaeological survey reporting requirements set forth by the MMS and UKOOA (2008).

GMT has a reputation for quality and attention to detail that has set us apart from our competitors. Geo-Marine Technology Inc. has assembled a team of highly knowledgeable scientists, each of whom is expert in all phases of desk top study compilation as well as geologic and hydrographic hazards interpretation. The capability of each individual to complete a project from the ground up translates into an uncommon level of efficiency and accuracy that has allowed Geo- Marine Technology to become an integral part of keeping your project under budget.

GMT has over 40 years of experience in analyzing and interpreting high resolution geophysical data. Our team of scientists have reduced and evaluated over 1 million linear kilometers of hydrographic survey data. We have successfully produced over 1000 hazard analysis and route investigation reports for nearly two hundred clients in 25 countries. We use state of the art technologies and have in-house programming capabilities for ‘problem’ or unusual digital datasets.

Hydrographic survey support services we provide:

• Complete marine geologic hazards (geo-hazards) analyses from survey and published datasets.

• Post processing of side scan sonar data via Chesapeake Technology.

• Post processing of 2d seismic, 3d seismic and Subbottom profiler data via Kingdom Suite by Seismic-Micro Technology.

• Post processing of Magnetometer data via software developed by Geo-Marine Technology Inc.

• Navigation evaluation and corrections. • Evaluations of surficial soils and their physical

properties based on available information, cores, published cores and remote sensing.

• Complete mapping/charting of marine geosciences data including sonar mosaics, hazards charts, hydrographic charts, sediment isopach maps, geologic structure maps or other necessary plan views.

• Seabed profiles and shallow sediment profiles along planned pipeline or cable routes.

• Dataset quality-control evaluations and recommendations.

• Data recovery from corrupted or incompatible data files (SEG-Y, XTF, etc).

• Complete reporting with pertinent figures – reports include field acquisition parameters and procedures.

• Burial assessment reporting and evaluation. • We maintain a secure FTP server in order to

quickly transmit results and data to and from client companies.

Our mapping products are GIS and MakaiPlan compatible. We are happy to provide you with electronic deliverables as they are completed to facilitate efficient route planning and pipeline or cable installation. GMT is expert at working within client schedules and fully understands that profits depend on completing projects in a timely manner.

Hydrographic survey support service deliverables:

• Charts and maps in AutoCAD format (Release 2004 to Release 2010) on CD ROM media and available for FTP download. Charts are tailored to best suit the client’s needs while exceeding ISO standards.

• Completed survey reports with interpretation findings, conclusions and recommendations in Microsoft Word (ver. 2004 and 2007) format and as a hyperlinked PDF file with embedded charts and figures. Report formatting conforms to exact client specifications.

• We will return all materials back to you, wherever you request or dispose of them after 9 months. We archive the digital results of our interpretations for a period of 3 years.

• We also deliver ongoing support for all of our products and assessments. We will happily field any inquiries or out of the ordinary requests by either you or your clients. We are committed to the highest ethical standards and our reputation reflects that commitment.

Our continuing support services are a point of pride. GMT’s dedication to you does not end with the publication of your report. Such considerations commonly include storm frequency, slope steepness, regional fishing practices, shipping lanes, sea surface and bottom temperatures, and swell vectors, just to name a few.

Fisheries present an important concern when developing new pipeline or cable installations because fishing equipment can pose a hazard to cables and pipelines themselves and to their installation procedures. To help mitigate these risks, GMT provides our customers with information summarizing local fishing practices as well as relevant socio-economic, ecological and political factors that may impact subsea infrastructure installation and/or operation.

Historical data of atmospheric and marine conditions provide guidelines for optimal windows for survey and lay operations. GMT therefore gathers and organizes the most recent information available– ranging from general climate to tsunami to bottom currents – from a variety of credible sources, analyzes it, and then displays it for easy client consideration.

Desk Top Studies are an integral installation processes. At first order, our Desk Top Studies assess the physiographic, geologic, bathymetric, atmospheric, oceanographic, political and industrial context of a given study area by compiling and synthesizing any and all data and information available to us.

As each proposed route is unique, every Desk Top Study we produce provides route-specific recommendations to our clients based on the salient aspects of our analyses and interpretations of a study area’s potential natural and anthropogenic hazards.
