What is GeoGebra
• Dynamic Mathematics Software.• Useful for learning and teaching mathematics
at all levels of education.• Joins interactive 2D and 3D geometry, algebra,
tables, graphing, calculus and statistics.
![Page 3: Geo gebra](https://reader035.vdocuments.site/reader035/viewer/2022071822/55b814c5bb61eb9c0e8b45ab/html5/thumbnails/3.jpg)
Why GeoGebra?
• It is an open source software, freely available.• Allows interactive exploration. • It is available for desktop computer, for tablet
and for iphones.• Makes mathematics more amusing.

Getting Started
• Download GeoGebra for free, on your iphone, tablet or desktop from
www.geogebra.org
• You can also find free classroom material and share your own on
www.geogbratube.org
![Page 5: Geo gebra](https://reader035.vdocuments.site/reader035/viewer/2022071822/55b814c5bb61eb9c0e8b45ab/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
First default screen of GeoGebra
Choose the corresponding Perspective from the Perspectives menu depending on what you would like to use GeoGebra for (e.g. Geometry, Algebra, Statistics)

Example of using Geogebra in Geometry
• Demonstrate the intercept theorem-“Thales theorem”
If two or more parallel lines are intersected by two intersecting lines, then the rations of the line segments of the first intersecting line is equal to the ration of the corresponding line segment of the second intersection line.

Example of using Geogebra in Algebra
• Parabola•Geometrically a parabola is a two- dimensional, mirror-symmetrical curve, which is approximately U -shaped .
•Algebrically it's given by the formula y=ax^2 + bx + c.
•The vertical line that slpits the parabola in two equal parts is called the “axis of symmetry”.
•The point on the axis of symmetry that intersects the parabola is called “vertex” and it is the point where the curvature is either max or min .

Next you can see • a small film demonstrate “Thales Theorem”
using GeoGebra And• a small Film presenting how to graph a
