20% Price Reduction on Genuine Cummins Diesel Particulate FiltersCummins is pleased to announce a significant price reduction of up to 20% on most on-highway Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs). This price reduction went into effect on January 02, 2016 for the following:

�� EPA 2007 DPFs: ISB, ISC, ISL and ISX

The pricing action was made in order to make Genuine Cummins DPFs more attractive against increased competition in the market. Customers

who purchase Genuine Cummins DPFs are now receiving a far superior product at a very competitive price. Any place Genuine Cummins Parts are sold should be taking full advantage of this price reduction to aggressively promote Genuine DPFs to customers.

Cummins Heavy-Duty Overhaul ProgramThe Cummins Overhaul Program for Heavy-Duty engines is being continued for 2016 with no changes to the discount structure. This means that customers can combine the purchase of a N14, ISM, M11, ISX12 or ISX15 overhaul kit with a cylinder head and additional Genuine Cummins Parts and save a bundle. The overhaul program is simple to administer and offers significant savings potential for your customers. Dealers simply need to provide a bill-of-sale to their local distributor showing that the discount was given to the customer and Cummins will reimburse the discount.

The goal of the program is to increase Genuine Cummins Parts sales by offering additional discounts for customers in need of a Heavy-Duty engine overhaul. This chart shows how the three levels of savings are applied for each engine model.

*All three N14 cylinder heads must be purchased / **Parts total EXCLUDES core. Totals include all parts with a Cummins new or ReCon® part number, including Cummins branded belts and Cummins/Fleetguard® filters.

The first level of savings occurs when customers choose to purchase an overhaul kit and corresponding cylinder head. Since the program first started, sales data shows that nearly 90% of overhaul kits are being sold with a head. This means that 90% of your customers are instantly qualified to redeem the first level of savings.

Our data also shows that customers who are performing overhauls are often choosing to replace a combination of injectors, fuel pumps, lube pumps and thermostats. If their combination of additional parts doesn’t qualify them for the second level of savings, it’s easy to show them how spending a little bit more can pay off by saving them an additional $400 or $500. If the customer chooses to replace the

above parts and a camshaft, connecting rods, EGR, or aftertreatment components, chances are good they’ll qualify a total savings of either $1,200 or $1,500.

It’s important to keep the Cummins Overhaul Program in mind when quoting overhauls to your customers. By understanding the various levels of savings it’s easy to guide your customer through the most cost effective overhaul solution.

Fuel Economy Improvements ISX EPA 2007Nothing attracts your customers’ attention more than fuel economy improvements and the associated cost savings. Improved fuel economy has an immediate impact on a customer’s bottom line. The more an engine is run, the easier it is to see the initial investment paid off. Cummins has always been committed to providing our customers with the lowest possible total cost of ownership. Therefore, we are always looking for new ways to improve our new and legacy products. The following technologies have been developed to help improve fuel economy on ISX EPA ‘07 engines.

ECM CalibrationIn February, 2016 a new calibration was released that changes the ratio of fresh air to recirculated exhaust gas that is sent to the engine. This relatively inexpensive improvement provides ISX EPA 2007 engines with a fuel economy improvement of up to 1.5% and is emissions transparent. To customers, an ECM recalibration is a simple service event. This calibration is currently available on INCAL and is great way to start a conversation with your customers about fuel economy.

Naturally Aspirated Air Compressor The Naturally Apirated Air Compressor (NAAC) is available as a first-fit option and is now available for the aftermarket. NAAC can provide ISX EPA 2007 engines with a fuel economy improvement of up to 2% depending on duty-cycle. The NAAC is a plumbing kit that allows the compressor to pull in ambient air rather than boosted air from the turbocharger. By not pulling air from the turbocharger, parasitic load is reduced on the engine resulting in improved fuel economy.

Redesigned EGR CoolerThis coming June, the current EGR cooler will be superseded by another product improvement. Building on the design changes that brought improved durability to the field two years ago, our engineers have developed new internal cooling coil geometry that produces 15% less soot loading on the aftertreatment system. Sending less soot to the aftertreatment system means that the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) will have to regenerate less frequently and be able to take advantage of more passive regenerations. By improving the performance capabilities of the EGR both fuel economy and intervals between DPF cleanings will be increased.

New Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) In August, Cummins will be releasing an improved DPF substrate featuring asymmetric cell technology. This new substrate will increase the DPFs ash holding capacity by 15%. Being able to effectively hold more ash means the DPF will regenerate less frequently. When combined with the redesigned EGR cooler and ECM calibration customers can expect an ISX EPA 2007 to experience a fuel economy improvement of up to 2.5%.

With the exception of the ECM recalibration all of these parts are going to be seen by your customers as “replace as fail” components. That’s why it’s important to take advantage of their next service event to inform them of the benefits shown below. That way, when they are ready to replace one of these key components, your shop will be the first place they call.

Encore Xtra™

Encore Xtra is a new in-service extended protection plan for ISX (EPA 2010 and 2013), ISX12 G (EPA 2013) & ISL G (EPA 2013) automotive engines in the United States and Canada. Encore Xtra provides increased residual value at the time of resale. This means reduced total cost of ownership over the life of the engine and extended protection that is transferable to subsequent owners

Eligibility and Requirements:�� The engine must be outside of 18 months

from the date-in-service (DIS) or have reached 200,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Existing extended coverage must be expired and cannot be combined with a separate Fuel Pump extended coverage. This Plan is available to the first and subsequent owners of the Engine. Coverage is available one time, per owner.

�� Encore Xtra coverage does not apply to Cummins ReCon engines.

�� Inspection and repairs completed

�� Inspection form completed and signed by an authorized Cummins distributor or dealer.

�� Engine must be within the listed years and mileage from DIS:

�z ISX 6 years/650,000 miles

�z ISX12 G 5 years/500,000 miles

�z ISL G 5 years/400,000 miles

SmartSaver6 Injector KitsThis May, Cummins released the SmartSaver6 Injector Kits for ISB5.9 and ISB6.7 on-highway applications. Cummins SmartSaver6 Injector Kits contain six ReCon injectors that have been remanufactured to Cummins precise standards for quality and performance. These injector kits are available for 2002-2010 ISB5.9 and ISB6.7 diesel engines that have the high-pressure common rail (HPCR) fuel system.

Cummins Announces Testing Capability For Natural Gas ReCon EnginesCummins is pleased to announce that the ReCon plant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, now has the ability to fully dyno test all MidRange and Heavy-Duty natural gas-powered ReCon engines, including the Cummins Westport ISL G and ISX 12G ReCon engine models. Every single natural gas engine the plant builds will now be hot tested just like the industry-leading diesel ReCon engines that the SLP plant is so well known for.

That also means from now on every natural gas MidRange and Heavy-Duty ReCon engine is backed by the full ReCon engine warranty as described in circuit.cummins.com. This will ensure that our customers can extend the lives of their equipment with the peace of mind that only comes with a Genuine Cummins solution and warranty. For example, Automotive or Transit ReCon ISL G engines up to 225 hp are warranted for 2 years and unlimited miles, while ISL G engines above 225 hp are warranted for 2 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Automotive or Transit ISX 12 G ReCon engines are covered for 2 years/200,000 miles. Extended coverage plans are also available. uploads. INLINE 7 has a faster processor, more robust algorithms, larger memory buffers and more sophisticated filtering than previous models while simultaneously accessing multiple vehicle data channels. INLINE 7 supports USB, WiFi and Bluetooth technologies in a single device and is designed for future capability with mobile products.

The INLINE 7 data link adapter communicates with your PC using a standard USB connector as well as through WiFi or Bluetooth. INLINE 7 is fully compliant with the Technology and Maintenance Council’s RP1210 standard and supports three simultaneous CAN connections and offers baud rates of 250k, 500k and 1 megabaud. INLINE 7 supports several other protocols such as J1708, J1587, ISO 15765, ISO 9141 (K and L line).

Cummins INLINE 7 Data Link Adapter incorporates strain relief secure cables for a robust connection. The rugged carrying case provides extra protection for the most demanding service environments. The main unit comes with a full one-year warranty against software and hardware malfunction. Everything you need from locking USB cable, 6-Pin, and 9-Pin Deutsch Wye adapter with security chip, and rugged storage case is included in the complete INLINE 7 kit.
