Genius Kids celebrates country's 68th Independence Day As the country is in full swing to celebrate the 68th anniversary of the Independence Day, Genius Kids, Kolkata's leading play school has also celebrated the I-Day with the undying favour of patriotism. "We are celebrating the day to make the children understand the importance of the Independence Day. They are dedicating their homage and respect to all those brave leaders, fighters and martyrs who gave freedom to our Mother India in the year 1947," said Mrs. Sumana Singh, Principal of Genius Kids. Top crèches in Kolkata has observed the day making various themes. One of the kids tutoring centre in Garia makes 'Incredible India' as its theme to observe the day while a kids day care in Salt Lake celebrates the same with a theme 'Empowering India' acknowledging the prosperous heritage of this country and its heroes. These activities instill children the importance of being a true Indian. Teachers teach them to respect country's National Flag and make them aware the value and meaning of the tri-coloured National Flag. Toddlers to teachers have celebrated in different ways to pay the tribute to this special day. "We have decorated a stage with flowers, placards and banners, which demonstrate the slogans of freedom, calling for compassion and inclusion. Students have dressed up according to the cultures and customs of different states so that it seems that a student represents a particular state. They are keen to dress up like national heroes," said Mrs. Mahua Dutta Gupta, Vice Principal of Genius Kids, Salt Lake branch. Students are thrilled to take part in various events and enjoyed every moments of the event of 'Go as You Like'. They have fun with an art and craft activity during the celebration. They also have decorated a map of India with flowers. "We sing our National Anthem followed by few more patriotic songs together with folk dances. Kids recite patriotic poems. Teachers too are also taking part in the programme to encourage these tiny tots," Mrs. Singh added. Genius Kids presents country's flag to all the students.
