Genetic timeline Teachers notes This activity is designed to test the students knowledge of historical scientific advances. The students are provided with the events sheet. This can be either: A) a re-usable laminated card game ready cut out B) a cut ‘n’ stick exercise, cut all the events out….. The students are then given the timeline sheet which they match the events to. Allow the students to guess when they think these events occurred and once they have guessed they can be shown the correct answer either using the power-point timeline or an overhead copy of the teachers sheet. Then the events can be stuck down to match the correct answers (or copied into books if using laminates) and to finish off they can complete the activity on filling in their opinions of the next 1000 years of genetics.

Teachers notes

This activity is designed to test the students knowledge of

historical scientific advances.

The students are provided with the events sheet. This can be

either:

A) a re-usable laminated card game ready cut out

B) a cut ‘n’ stick exercise, cut all the events out…..

The students are then given the timeline sheet which they

match the events to. Allow the students to guess when they

think these events occurred and once they have guessed they

can be shown the correct answer either using the power-point

timeline or an overhead copy of the teachers sheet.

Then the events can be stuck down to match the correct

answers (or copied into books if using laminates) and to

finish off they can complete the activity on filling in their

opinions of the next 1000 years of genetics.
