The Disco Lovers Community Event Group was an idea started round a campfire as the English Disco Lovers, a grass roots social movement and community group promoting inclusivity and raising funds through the medium of Disco. They draw on the positivity of the Disco music genre and the history of Disco, spreading a message of equality through music, fun, and positive action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tOiRuQw4fqw Since the group's inception in 2012 they have amassed 64,000 Facebook likes, 10,800 Twitter followers, and sold out every event countrywide for the last 3 years. They have raised over £10000 for worthy causes of all kinds, performing all over the UK and Europe, at festivals such as Glastonbury, Shambala, Kendal Calling, Secret Garden Party, 3 years of sold out gigs at the Speigeltent for Brighton Festival and Brighton Pride - spreading their “Don't Hate! Gyrate!” message, and were also shortlisted for the National Diversity Awards 2013. Promoter, DJ and campaigner Sam Moffett has played to over 5000 people in Brighton this year alone, and for 35 years as far afield as Estonia, Iceland, India and Mexico. One of their demonstrations became the subject of a music video for a nu-disco band, Let The Machines Do The Work. The video has since gone viral and been nominated for the UK Music Video Awards, receiving support from Nile Rodgers!

The group organise charity club nights, dances, festival appearances and events across the UK and have held events at Dalston Superstore,

The Old Queen's Head, Shoreditch Butchery, The Prince of Wales, The Green Door Store, World Headquarters, The Dance Academy, The Brighton Fringe Festival, Pride in Brighton and London, and many many more. Guest DJs have included; Ashley Beedle, Simon Lee (Faze Action), Deadly Sins, Yam Who? Ben Pistor (Disco Bloodbath), Rory Phillips and Sam Moffett. They have a monthly magazine Radio Show Brighton's Radio Reverb. They have been featured on 6 Music's 'Desert Island Disco', 'The Chain', BBC Radio Sussex, Juice Brighton, and in The Guardian, Time Out, The Huffington Post, BN1 Magazine, Mixmag, Defected News and many more.

Their recent Brighton Beach Party invitation went viral, with over 10,000 engagements in 48 hours:
