Attendees will gain confidence in addressing this sensitive issue within their research, and ensuring that participants’ safety and wellbeing is protected at all times. The course will focus on particular populations (e.g. women, children, elderly) or areas of interest within the context of family violence to be determined in advance by course participants. We will use practical examples to illustrate effective ways to conduct projects in these areas. Participants will be asked to bring along a project to workshop during the course. TOPICSFinal topics will be determined by course participants, but the team has expertise in a diverse range of areas including: evaluations including randomised controlled trials of interventions for family violence, the use of technology (websites/apps) in family violence research, research with children and perpetrators, interventions conducted in health settings, qualitative research (interviews, focus groups), ethical issues working with vulnerable populations.
