JOB PURPOSE AND OVERVIEW The General Manager, Commercial and Marketing has the purpose to work collaboratively within Shooting Australia and our Member Organisations, along with external stakeholders in the community to; Develop and cultivate commercial revenue streams Manage the Shooting Australia brand and marketing activity Manage and innovate our digital and traditional media communications Manage our corporate communications to both internal and external stakeholders; and Attract and oversee the running of international and domestic events in Australia. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Develop and execute a sales strategy to generate new income streams through commercial partnerships and related initiatives that achieve targeted budgets Develop and manage relationships with existing commercial partners and other contributors to the sport and its profile such as the Australian Olympic Committee

• Lead the team that manages content generation and production for Shooting Australia TV and other digital platforms

• Maximise commercial opportunities at national and international events in Australia • Promote competition target shooting sports to new and existing audiences • Ensure that a positive public image is achieved through communications that tell our story • Prepare an innovative communications strategy for the sport, to achieve our brand, marketing and

public relations objectives • Effectively manage a team to deliver on the goals of the organisation • Effectively manage contractors and suppliers of goods and services • Collaborate with our Member Organisations in a transparent, effective and efficient manner; and • Successfully contribute to the Shooting Australia culture by living our values

JOB DETAILS

• The General Manager, Commercial and Marketing reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and sits on the Senior Management Team

• This full time role has four direct reports, three who are directly employed and one external contractor

• While Shooting Australia’s administrative headquarters is in Adelaide, South Australia, we are open to applicants who may be able to perform the role from an alternative location

• Candidates should note that domestic travel will be required when appropriate • Due to the nature of the role, work outside of normal business hours including evenings, weekends

and public holiday’s, will be part of the “normal” working week • A salary package will be negotiated and structured with the successful applicant depending upon

skillset and experience • Tools of the trade such as mobile phone and laptop will be supplied.

EXPECTED SKILLS, QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Candidates applying for the General Manager, Commercial and Marketing role will require a range of personal and professional skills, qualifications and experience, including: Professional

• A proven ability to build strong relationships and generate income • Demonstrated success in the generation of new income streams through commercial partnerships in

a sporting organisation • Tertiary qualification/s in a relevant field • Minimum of five years experience managing staff • Proven experience working in a collaborative environment to achieve joint goals • Experience in working with member organisations and stakeholders, to achieve common goals

• A demonstrated ability to work within a dynamic environment, to budget, plan and manage change • A strong understanding of the Australian sporting system and network • An understanding of the sport of competition target shooting will be a great advantage to the

applicant but is not essential.
