GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR CANDIDATES

1. Candidates should, in addition to their Admit Card, bring

a) Two copies of their latest Passport size colour photographs.

b) Candidate has to produce at least one valid document (as on date) and the original photo Identity Proof amongst the following:-

(i) Aadhar Card / Print out of e-Aadhar

(ii) Voter’s ID Card

(iii) Driving License

(iv) Passport

(v) PAN Card

(vi) Service ID Card issued to employees by Central Govt./State Govt./PSUs

(vii) ID Card issued by University/College/School

(viii) Ex-Serviceman Discharge Book issued by Ministry of Defence

(ix) Any other Photo Identity Proof issued by Central Govt./State Govt.

c) Candidates of COMBINED GRADUATE LEVEL EXAMINATION, 2019 (TIER-I) may note that while appearing in the Computer Based Examination, they must carry an original valid photo identity card having the same Date of Birth as printed on the Admission Certificate.

If the Photo Identity Card does not contain the complete Date of Birth, then the candidate must carry an additional original document (e.g. 10th Admit Card/Pass Certificate/Marks Sheet issued only by CBSE /ICSE/ State Boards with photographs; Birth Certificate, Category Certificate etc. issued only by Central Govt./State Govt./PSUs) having the Date of Birth as printed on the Admission Certificate. In case of a mismatch in the Date of Birth mentioned in the Admission Certificate and Photo ID Proof/the Certificate brought in support of Date of Birth, the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the examination.

d) Persons with benchmark disabilities are entitled for Compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour and assistance of Scribe (Provided appropriate choice in this regard is given in online application form) on production of a certificate to the effect that the person concerned has physical limitation to write and scribe is essential to write examination on his/her behalf, as per proforma at Annexure-I of the notification of COMBINED GRADUATE LEVEL

EXAMINATION, 2019 (TIER-I). Candidates with benchmark disabilities opted for bringing own scribe have to submit details of the own scribe as per proforma at Annexure-II of the notification of COMBINED GRADUATE LEVEL EXAMINATION, 2019 (TIER-I).

If a candidate fails to bring the above documents, he/she would not be admitted in the examination venue and his/her candidature could be cancelled.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

a). Reading materials like paper chits, books, magazines, newspapers, Plain Paper etc.

b). Stationary materials like pen, pencils, geometry/pencil box, clipboards, pouches of any

Material, Sketch pen, markers, scale, rubber etc.

c). Electronic gadgets such as:-

• Mobile phones

• Watches (including analog watches)

• Bluetooth Devices

• Pen Camera

• Vehicle Keys (including remote keys etc.)

• Button Camera

• Hand-held Scanner

• Head/Ear Phones

• Storage Devices

• Any other Elec. Devices

• SIM Cards

• Calculator (unless specified)

• Health Bands

• Radio Device, Remote Device

d). Firearms (including bullets, pellets) or any Weapons

e). Eatables (open or packed), Drinking Water Bottles

f). Any other item, which could be used for unfair means for hiding communication devices like Camera, Blue Tooth devices, etc.

g). Candidates should avoid carrying below mentioned items:

Metal items such as Charms, Rings, Bracelet, Earrings, Nose-Pin, Chains, Necklace, Pendants, Badge, Belts, Broach, Hair Pin, Goggles, Hair Band, Mangal sutra, Payal.

If candidates are found with these items, they will be subjected to separate frisking and may also be asked to remove the same in case the object is found suspicious. Staff Selection Commission will not be responsible for the safe storage of such items. h). Candidates who come in inebriated (drunken) state will not be allowed entry into the venue. Also candidates will not be allowed to chew tobacco, Pan Masala, Gutka etc in the examination hall.

This is not an exhaustive list, and SSC reserves the right to prevent items from being taken in the examination venue that it believes may be used in cheating or malpractice.

2. If any such item is found in the possession of a candidate in the examination lab, his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled and legal/criminal proceedings could be initiated against him/her. He/she would also liable to be debarred from appearing in future examinations of the Commission as per the policy of the Commission.

CANDIDATES ARE STRICTLY ADVISED TO DESIST FROM BRINGING BAGS AND PROHIBITED ITEMS INTO THE EXAMINATION VENUE.

3. It is reiterated that Candidates should not bring bags and prohibited items as mentioned above to the examination venue. In case they bring any such item, they would have to make their own arrangements for safe custody of such items. The Commission shall not make any arrangement nor be responsible for the safe custody of any such item.

4. Pen/Pencil and Paper for rough work would be provided in the examination lab.

5. The candidates should ensure that they do not indulge in any unfair means and shall also not talk to each other after commencement of the exam and during its entire duration.

6. CANDIDATES MUST ENSURE THAT THEY DO NOT APPEAR IN COMBINED GRADUATE LEVEL EXAMINATION, 2019 (TIER-I) MORE THAN ONCE. OTHERWISE CANDIDATURE OF SUCH CANDIDATES WOULD BE CANCELLED AND THEY WOULD BE DEBARRED FROM FUTURE EXAMINATIONS OF THE COMMISSION AS PER THE POLICY OF THE COMMISSION. 7. Candidature of candidates is purely provisional. It is advised that candidates should satisfy themselves that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions. If at any stage it is found that a candidate does not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, his/her candidature shall be cancelled.

8. Candidates shall be permitted to appear in the exam only at the venue as specified in the Admission Certificate.

9. The entry of the Candidates inside the venue will ONLY be allowed:

i) between 08.30 AM - 09.30 AM for the first shift ii) between 11.30 Noon - 12.30 PM for the second shift iii) between 02.30 PM - 03.30 PM for the third shift

Note - Entry gates would be closed at 09.30 AM for the first shift, 12.30 PM for the second shift and 03.30 PM for the third shift. Candidates reaching the Venue after entry closing time shall not be allowed to enter the examination venue.

10. Candidates shall have to undergo the process of FRISKING and ensure that their BIOMETRIC REGISTRATION (LTI-Left Thumb Impression) is completed for appearing in the examination. Once the Biometric Registration is completed the candidate shall not be allowed to leave the examination venue till the completion of the examination.

11. CANDIDATES MUST STRICTLY ABIDE BY THE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN BY THE EXAM FUNCTIONARIES (CENTRE SUPERVISOR / INVIGILATOR,ETC).

12. You have to fill and sign the Admission Certificate (Commission’s Copy), and affix your LEFT HAND THUMB IMPRESSION at the given space. On the reverse side of the Admission Certificate(Commission’s Copy), please write the Certification Statement in your running handwriting and affix your signature.

13. No candidate is allowed to leave the examination lab before the completion of the examination time for any reason without permission from the exam functionaries. Once a candidate leaves the lab without the permission of the exam functionaries, he/she shall not be allowed to re-enter the examination lab and his/her candidature shall be cancelled.

14. If any candidate is found obstructing the conduct of the examination or creating disturbances at the examination venue, his/her candidature shall be summarily cancelled. Such candidate shall also be liable to be debarred from future examinations of the Commission and legal/criminal proceedings could be initiated against him/her. It may be noted that no re-examination would be conducted if it is found that the examination was disrupted on account of instigation by the candidates.

15. If the examination does not commence at the scheduled time or is interrupted midway due to any technical snag or for any other reason, candidates should follow the instructions of the exam functionaries. They may have to wait patiently till the issue is suitably addressed and resolved. The Commission would take an appropriate action and consider a decision on the matter which would be final and would be binding on candidates in case the exam could not be completed.

16. Candidates are assured that in case of any disruption of examination for any reason such as any major/minor technical snag or slow speed of server/breakdown of server etc., they will not, under any circumstances, lose the examination time to which they are entitled.

17. Candidates are advised to report to the concerned Regional office/ Commission, in case they notice any irregularity during conduct of examination. The identity of such candidates will be kept confidential.

18. In case of any doubt or any clarification, the candidates are advised to contact the concerned Regional Offices of the Commission personally or through the helpline numbers / e-mail as indicated at top of page1 of the Admission Certificate.

19. Candidates are advised to visit the exam venue atleast one day in advance so that they can reach the examination venue on the date of exam in time.

20. This Exam is for duration of 1 Hour:

Batch I : Exam Timing :10.00 AM to 11.00 AM; Reporting Time : 08.30 AM ; Entry Closing Time : 09.30 AM

Batch II : Exam Timing :01.00 PM to 02.00 PM ; Reporting Time : 11.30 Noon; Entry Closing Time : 12.30 PM

Batch III : Exam Timing :04.00 PM to 05.00 PM; Reporting Time : 02.30 PM ; Entry Closing Time : 03.30 PM

No one will be allowed even one minute late than the entry closing time mentioned on your Admit Card.

Total Number of Questions for the Exam is: 100 Total Marks for the Exam is: 200

Negative Marking for every wrong answer : 0.50 (For Visually Handicapped (VH)/Cerebral Palsy (CP)/Scribe candidates, duration of exam is 80 Minutes. Exam Timing for Batch-1 is 10.00 AM to 11.20 AM, Batch-2 is 01.00 PM to 02.20 PM and for Batch -3 is 04.00 PM to 05.20 PM).

21. You are requested to avoid touching the wires and cables as it could lead to the computer shutting down. 22. In case you face any technical issue while logging into the examination or during the examination, please contact the Invigilator immediately to address the issue. 23. Please make sure you sign in the space provided against your details in the Attendance Sheet. Signing on the Attendance Sheet is mandatory and without signing the attendance sheet your candidature will be NULL and VOID.

24. The Admission Certificate (Commission’s Copy) should be handed over to the Invigilator.

25. All Exam Labs are under Video Surveillance and all activities of candidates are being closely monitored. You are strictly cautioned not to indulge in any unfair means. Such activities would lead to cancellation of your candidature for this exam and you may also be debarred from future exams conducted by the Commission.

26. The computer based exam will be in bilingual i.e. English & Hindi Languages (except English paper section). Questions and Answer options will appear in both the languages.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING ONLINE EXAMINATION:

1. The clock will be set at the server. The countdown timer in the top right corner of screen will display the remaining time available for you to complete the examination. When the timer reaches zero, the examination will end by itself. You will not be required to end or submit your examination.

2. The Question Palette displayed on the right side of screen will show the status of each question using one of the following symbols:

3. The Marked for Review status for a question simply indicates that you would like to look at that question again.

4. You can click on the ">" arrow which appears to the left of question palette to collapse the question palette thereby maximizing the question window. To view the question palette again, you can click on "< " which appears on the right side of question window.

5. You can click on your "Profile" image on top right corner of your screen to change the language during the exam. On clicking of Profile image you will get a drop-down to change the question content to the desired language.

6. You can click on to navigate to the bottom and to navigate to the top of the question area, without scrolling.

Navigating to a Question:

7. To answer a question, do the following:

a. Click on the question number in the Question Palette at the right of your screen to go to that numbered question directly. By selecting answer to this question and thereafter going to the next question directly from question palette does NOT save your answer to the current question.

b. Click on Save & Next to save your answer for the current question and then go to the next question.

c. Click on Mark for Review & Next to save your answer for the current question, mark it for review, and then go to the next question.

Answering a Question:

8. Procedure for answering a multiple choice type question:

a. To select your answer, click on the button of one of the options b. To deselect your chosen answer, click on the button of the chosen option again or

click on the Clear Response button. c. To change your chosen answer, click on the button of another option d. To save your answer, you MUST click on the Save & Next button e. To mark the question for review, click on the Mark for Review & Next button.

9. To change your answer to a question that has already been answered, first select that

question for answering and then follow the procedure for answering the question.

Navigating through sections:

10. Sections in this question paper are displayed on the top bar of the screen. Questions in a section can be viewed by clicking on the section name. The section you are currently viewing is highlighted.

11. After clicking the Save & Next button on the last question for a section, you will automatically be taken to the first question of the next section.

12. You can shuffle between sections and questions anytime during the examination as per your convenience.

13. Candidate can view the corresponding section summary as part of the legend that appears in every section above the question palette.

यह‍एक‍संपूर्ट‍सूची‍नहीं‍है,‍और‍एसएससी‍को‍उन‍वस्तुओं‍को‍परीक्षा‍कें द्र‍में‍ल‍ेजाने‍से‍रोकने‍का‍अथधकार‍है, ल्जसका‍मानना‍है‍कक‍इसका‍इस्तेमाल‍धोिाधडी‍या‍कदाचार‍में‍ककया‍जा‍सकता‍है।

2. यदद‍ऐसी‍कोई‍सामिी‍परीक्षा-कक्ष‍में‍अभ्‍यर्थी‍के‍पासपाई‍जाती‍है‍तो‍उसकी‍अभ्‍यथर्थटता‍रद्द‍की‍जा‍सकती‍है‍और‍उसके‍ववरूद्ध‍कानूनी/आपराथधक‍कायटवाही‍आरम्‍भ‍की‍जा‍सकती‍है‍।‍आयोग‍की‍नीनत‍के‍अनुसार‍आयोग‍की‍भववष्‍य‍में‍होनेवाली‍परीक्षाओं‍में‍बैठने‍से‍वाररत‍भी‍ककया‍जा‍सकता‍है‍।‍

अभ्यथर्थटयों‍को‍सख्ती‍से‍सलाह‍दी‍जाती‍है‍कक‍वे‍परीक्षा-केन्‍द्र‍में‍अपना‍बैग‍और‍प्रनतबंथधत‍सामथियां‍सार्थ‍न‍लाएाँ।

3. यह‍दोहराया‍जाता‍है‍कक‍उम्मीदवार‍परीक्षा-केन्‍द्र‍में‍अपना‍बैग‍और‍उपयुटतत‍प्रनतबंथधत‍सामथियााँ‍अपने‍सार्थ‍न‍लाएाँ।‍‍यदद‍वे‍इस‍प्रकार‍की‍वस्‍तुएं‍अपने‍सार्थ‍लाते‍हैं‍तो‍उनको‍ऐसी‍वस्‍तुओं‍को‍सुरक्षक्षत‍रिने‍की‍व्‍यवस्र्था‍स्‍वयं‍करनी‍होगी।‍आयोग‍ऐसी‍वस्‍तुओं‍को‍रिने‍की‍व्‍यवस्‍र्था‍नहीं‍करेगा‍और‍न‍ही‍ऐसी‍वस्‍तुओं‍को‍सुरक्षक्षत‍रिने‍के‍ललए‍उत्‍तरदायी‍होगा।

4. रफ‍कायट‍के‍ललए‍पेन/पेंलसल‍और‍कागज‍परीक्षा-कक्ष‍में‍प्रदान‍ककए‍जाएंगे‍।

11. अभ्‍यर्थियों‍को‍परीक्षा‍पदार्धकाररयों‍(केन्‍ि‍पयिवेक्षक/तनरीक्षक‍इत्‍याहद)‍द्वारा‍हदए‍गए‍अनुदेशों‍का‍सख्‍ती‍से‍पािन‍करना‍चाहहए‍।
