Abiding Shepherd Lutheran Church “When you have the Shepherd… …you have EVERYTHING you need!” Weekly Worship Worship is the highlight of our activities each week. Our services are great opportunities to connect with people from around the area but most importantly, to connect with our God. On Sunday mornings our music is more formal and the pastors wear formal attire. Monday nights are a bit more laidback and the music is more modern. Whichever service you attend you’ll find a comfortable atmosphere and a visually driven message designed to get you into God’s Word and apply it to your life. Worship at Abiding Shepherd is a family event. Noise from little ones is not only accepted, but expected. To help you out, we do have rocking chairs in the worship area and a kid’s room in case they need a little break. There are three opportunities for weekly worship: Sundays at 9:00 am and 10:45 am as well as our Monday evening contemporary worship service at 7:00 pm.

Abiding Shepherd Lutheran Church

“When you have the Shepherd…

…you have EVERYTHING you need!”

Weekly Worship Worship is the highlight of our activities each week. Our services are

great opportunities to connect with people from around the area

but most importantly, to connect with our God. On Sunday mornings

our music is more formal and the pastors wear formal attire. Monday

nights are a bit more laidback and the music is more modern.

Whichever service you attend you’ll find a comfortable atmosphere

and a visually driven message designed to get you into God’s Word

and apply it to your life.

Worship at Abiding Shepherd is a family event. Noise from little

ones is not only accepted, but expected. To help you out, we do

have rocking chairs in the worship area and a kid’s room in case

they need a little break.

There are three opportunities for weekly worship: Sundays at

9:00 am and 10:45 am as well as our Monday evening

contemporary worship service at 7:00 pm.

Large Group Bible Studies

There are various large group Bible studies to help you grow in your

faith.

Past examples include:

Video series like The Truth Project and Financial Peace University

Movie Bible studies, where families watch a popular film, and then

explore Christian principles either present or absent in the film

Professional guest speakers guiding discussions on emotional health

Marriage Seminars

Small Group Bible Studies

Small Group Bible study is a vital part of our ministry. We are blessed to have teams who

facilitate casual, yet in-depth monthly discussions. Each small group consists of about ten

participants who meet at various locations, days and times.

Family Education Night

Each Wednesday evening throughout the school year, we meet for social time, as well as

Bible study, with childcare provided.

The evening schedule includes:

6:00 pm – supper

6:30 pm – clean up

6:35 pm – Bible study / Confirmation class

7:30 pm – departure

Social Opportunities

Annual activities include a church picnic, Mallards tailgate and game,

winter skiing, a family golf-scramble and a progressive dinner. There are

also the occasional girls’ night out, a concert, play or waterpark

adventure you will be invited to attend.

Sunday School

Our Sunday School is open to children three years of age through sixth

grade. It is held between Sunday worship services at 10:10 am.

E.P.I.C. Youth Ministry

Youth in grades seven through twelve meet Sunday evenings

from 6:00 – 8:30 pm for interactive games that connect them with

each other and in-depth faith discussions that connect them with

their Savior. Each night is guided by two truths:

1) Faith and fun go hand in hand and

2) Being a Christian teen is E.P.I.C. because there is Endless

Potential In Christ!

Service Opportunities We encourage all people to use their abilities to serve those around

them and their community. Large or small, God has placed before each

of us an opportunity to serve. If you have certain talents or if there are

specific interests that you feel passionate about, we are here to help you

facilitate the discovery and use of those gifts.

Christmas for Kids On the first three Saturdays in December, we hold a special

Christmas for Kids program. With this community event, there is an

opportunity to review the true meaning of Christmas with crafts,

songs, and the CHRISTmas story! The program is topped off with the

Grand Finale pageant on the third Sunday of December where the

kids perform the songs and play that they’ve been working on!

For the Men Warriors for Christ, the men of Abiding Shepherd, get together for special activities designed

specifically for the Christian man. You’re invited to come get a cup of coffee and a light

breakfast at the weekly Foxhole meetings, 7:00 am on Wednesdays. These casual faith

discussions are a great way to start your day! This group also sponsors a number of events

during the year such as wild game feeds, bonfires and racing nights.

For the Women

WINGS (Women in God’s Service) offers activities designed specifically for the Christian

woman. You’re welcome to join them for coffee and a Bible study on Wednesdays from

10:00 to 11:15 am. WINGS also sponsors a number of other great activities like a prayer shawl

ministry, Christmas card making, and Advent by Candlelight.
