MOUNTING AND INSTALLATION OIL SEPARATOR

GENERAL

All federal state and local safety regulations should be complied withduring service work in or on the package.This service task should be carried out only by those who have beentrained and authorised to do so.Prepare the compressor acc. to the "Installation and MaintenanceManual" (IMM).

INSTALLING

A1. Placing onto a unit:• Mount the oil separator on a plate of at least 8 mm thickness.A2. Placing the oil separator direct onto a floor or concrete block.• Required; base support• Mount base support onto oil separator• Place the oil separator onto a level floor. The space underneath the basesupport of the oil separator may be filled-up with mortar if necessary. (usechemical anchors or other anchors to guarantee a permanent attachment).

CONNECTING

Discharge lines.• Connect the discharge line of the compressor to connection (prevent entering ofdirt into the vessel while (tack-) welding these connections).Oil return line:• Mount the oil float incl. a stop valve or the electric switch ,• Connect the return line to the compressor on to the stop valve as mounted onthe float switch, or in case an electric switch is fitted connect stop valve (Internaldiameter 8 mm).Oil drain:• Mount an dirt drain valve or crew a plug in connectionFILLING• Purge and fill the oil separator with oil.

1.1 OIL SEPARATORS SERIES OS (25 BAR)

General

Grasso can supply standard oil separators, designed for application in dischargelines (also LP discharge lines for interstage cooling system C and D).

Procedure and Data

• Selection:

– Consult GEA Grasso Selection Software which can be downloaded fromGEA internet site

Standard scope of supply

• Oil separator according to CE/PED, DM T/P nr. 32974 (French regulations) orGOST-R

• Set of flanges (DIN2635) for inlet and outlet connections.

• Float valve assembly, for automatic return of oil to crankcase of thecompressor and stop valve (not mounted).

• Oil drain stop valve (not mounted).

• Safety valve connection

Options

• Other approvals on request.

• Base support for mounting on concrete floor.

• Oil return protection.

• Single (1/2” BSP ) safety valve

• Double (1” BSP) safety valve

• Oil level control consisting of a solenoid valve and and electric level switch,direct load switching 21 ... 264 VAC/50-60 Hz, fitting 1”BSP, for automaticreturn of oil to crankcase of the compressor and stop valve (not mounted).

• Oil drain stop valve (not mounted).

• Safety valve connection
