Welcome aboard to the new "VICENTE'S SKY LOUNGE"

New Showroom Planned for Fiji Marina a panoramic view of AV ALON BAY featuring delicious cocktails,

sandwiches, and dancing. The structures soon to be added to the Fiji Marina boatyard and sales facilities, at an estimated construction cost of $500,000 will total 19,300 sq. ft.

Plans for the glass walled and night lighted boat showroom, which when completed will be one of the largest and most unique structures of its kind anywhere, call for the use of a huge turntable 100' in diameter on which 12 large cruisers will form part of a moving display. Offices, sales desks, and areas for customer viewing inside the showroom will occupy circular catwalks around the big turntable.

A second circular building, connected to the rotating showroom by a marine chandlery and supply store, will house weatherproof yacht repair and paiDting areas.

Fiji Marina, which is located on Fiji Way and occupies an area of 7.2 acres, was the first boat repair yard to open at Marina del Rey. Besides its present and soon to be built sales and repair facilities , it also contains a 113-slip marina.

Attending recent groundbreaking ceremonies for new showroom and repair buildings to be conshucted at Marina del Rey's Fiji Marina were ( from left) : Harbormaster Leo Porter, Property Manager Richard L. Landon, Ray Kerbelin , Marina Chamber of Commerce President Lee Cooper, Fiji Marina principal Morgan Van Tine, R. C.

Hight, Harbor Dept. secretary Glynda Holley, Chamber of Commerce Manager Hal Hild, Fiji Marina General Manager Bill Wilson, and Merle Wilson and Leonard Shortland of the Department of Small Craft Harbors.

Tram travellers at Marina del Rey's Marina Point Harbor are shown aboard one of the little electric vehicles now in use at this apartment and boat slip complex.

Available at about 10-minute intervals from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the trams now offer Marina Poin t Harbor apartment and slip tenants free transportation to and from parking lots, buildings, boat gangways, and pool and sauna areas.

Package carrying rack on rear of tram shown appears to have more appeal for young fry than do the conventional seats under the surrey-type canvas top.

Now I Lay Me Down . .. To Sleep?

Do you enjoy boating more after a good night's sleep, but sometimes don't get one on your boat, due to snoring, outboard motors, shore boats, radios, parties, bongos - or searchlights or the dawn's early?

Make yourself a little dark-and-quiet kit. First item in it is a sleep-shade. If you haven't been given one on an airline sometime, buy one at almost any drugstore for $1 or so. They are padded to keep light from coming in around your nose as happens with an ordinary blindfold. People with large noses have more trouble of this k_ind. Sleep-shades have adjustable elastic cords which go around your head above and below your ears and keep the gadget on, regardless of the shape of your head - or your nose.

The second item is a pair of wax earstops, also from any drug store, for two bits, and which, after warming in your hand, you press into your ears. It may take just a little practice to learn how to make them seal and stay in most effectively, and how to remove them, again depending upon what shape ears you have. But they work - they greatly reduce the amount of noise.

Use ot these items should make a good night's sleep possible in most circumstance. However, just in case, you will want to put some sleeping pills in your dark-and-quiet kit. Your phy-

s1cian will prescribe Nembutal capsules or something similar. Shape of mouth has nothing to do with taking them.Used as directed, these pills will not so deaden you that you couldn't rise to emergency, should one occur.

Then, for the really difficult situations, you might want to include in your kit a sawed-off shotgun and four kinds of load - blanks, salt, birdshot and large size ball-shot.

Pleasant dreams - regardless of the size or shape of your head, nose or ears!
