INFORMATIONThis revision sheet provides updates to the assembly and operating instructions forthe "R..7, F..7, K..7, K..9, S..7, SPIROPLAN® W Gear Unit Series". The followingchapters were updated:• Chapter 4.7.1 "Mounting the shaft-mounted gear unit", Step 4 – Installing the input

shaft in a gear unit without a shaft shoulder. New distance of the shrink disk fromthe gear unit housing: 2 – 3 mm.

1 RevisionInstalling the shaft-mounted gear unit (with shrink disk)

Revision – Gear Unit Series R..7, F..7, K..7, K..9, S..7, SPIROPLAN® W4

1.1 Installing the shaft-mounted gear unit (with shrink disk)4. Install the shaft. Make sure that the outer rings of the shrink disk are installed in par-allel to each other.• Make sure that the outer rings of the shrink disk are plane-parallel.• If you have a gear unit with a shaft shoulder, fit the shrink disk onto the shaft

shoulder as far as the stop. However, the outer ring of the shrink disk facing thegear unit must have a minimum distance of no less than 2 mm from the gear unithousing.

• In the case of a gear unit without a shaft shoulder, mount the shrink disk at a dis-tance of 2 – 3 mm from the gear unit housing.

• Tighten the locking bolts by working round several times from one bolt to the next(not in diametrically opposite sequence). The tightening torques are given in thetable below. After mounting, grease the outer surface of the hollow shaft in thearea of the shrink disk to provide corrosion protection.

1.2 Lubricant table (01751 17 04)

NOTICEDamage to the gear unit due to improper lubricants.Possible damage to property.• The oil viscosity and type (mineral/synthetic) to be used are determined by

SEW‑EURODRIVE specifically for each order. This information is noted in the or-der confirmation and on the gear unit's nameplate. If you use other lubricants forthe gear units and/or use the lubricants at temperatures outside the recommen-ded temperature range, SEW‑EURODRIVE does not assume liability.

• The lubricant recommendation in the lubricant table in no way represents a guar-antee regarding the quality of the lubricant delivered by each respective supplier.Each lubricant manufacturer is responsible for the quality of their product.

• Do not mix synthetic lubricants.• Do not mix synthetic lubricants and mineral lubricants.• Oils of the same viscosity class from different manufacturers do not have the

same characteristics. In particular, the minimally and maximally permitted oil bathtemperatures are manufacturer-specific. These temperatures are specified in thelubricant tables.

• The values specified in the lubricant tables apply as of the time of printing of thisdocument. The data of the lubricants is subject to dynamic change on the part ofthe lubricant manufacturers. For the latest information about the lubricants, visit:www.sew-eurodrive.de/lubricants.
