Final Development - Refine your chosen idea– a minimum of 3 sketchbook pages or equivalent. Include:
Final designs which are detailed and thorough
Colour studies/media tests
Everything must be fully annotated
This should include making a practice piece where you have tested and timed exactly what you will do in the exam.

Make a mind map of possible ideas for the theme of
Art Deco. This should include images, information and
your own notes, ideas and annotations.

Artist Research - Complete a minimum of 6 sketchbook pages (or equivalent) on at least 3 artists or photographers of your choice related to the theme Art Deco
Include:
Relevant biographical information
Analysis of artist’s work and an artists copy.
Explanation of why you have chosen to research each artist and how you may link this with your own work.

You should make connections with sources of Art Deco when developing your personal response to one of the following:
(a) Your own interpretation of Art Deco
(b) Create work inspired by images of Art Deco
(c) You might explore how other artists have worked on the theme of Art Deco
AO3 - RECORD: YOUR OWN STUDIES/IDEAS

Task 3
Collect a minimum of 20 primary and secondary
source images (photos or drawings ) based on Art
Deco. These should ideally be photographs which
you have taken yourself—eg surroundings, or imag-
es you have found, collages, etc but may also be
internet images. Present your images in a creative
way in your sketchbook.
Task 4
Produce a minimum of 10 detailed studies based on Art Deco Studies. Possible media/processes may include:
Pencil - tonal study/mark making
Paint - acrylic/watercolour, gouache
Pen - biro/fine liner/gel pen
Coloured pencils
Collage - ripped papers/photomontage
Pastel or oil pastel
Photography - working on photocopies
Mixed media
Task 5 Produce at least 3 design development ideas using a range of materials and techniques.
Produce an A4 final outcome. You should time how long this takes you to complete. (Approx 2.5 hrs). Remember that your exam is 10 hours long.
