Background: 

• In the 21st century and beyond leaders require crucial efforts to securing a reliable future for our generations in terms of sustainable growth for individuals, families, communities and organizations (NGO, private and government) for a stronger, wealthier and healthier Papua New Guinea in line with Government’s “Vision 2050”. 

• “Go Coffee Do Green” : to initiate rural based economic activities and Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) projects to ensure all aspect of profits maximizing, people empowerment and care for planet earth are effectively managed. 

• Project management and leadership initiative in Go Coffee Do Green and those organizations that support this course are placing PNG to next level of development.

within the project sites and corporate businesses that stipulate “triple bottom line”: Profit, human capital and the environment

In the 21st Century and beyond leaders require crucial efforts to securing a relaible future for our generations interms of sustainable growth for individuals, famililies, communities and organizations (NGO, private government) for a stronger, wealthier and healtier PNG inline with governt's "Vision 2050".To enanle and promote this strategy " Go COffee Do Green" has been established lately 2012 to initiate rural based economic activities and CSR projects to ensure all aspects of profit maximizing, people empowerment and care for the planet earth are effectively managed.Our country that is wholly relying on natural extractive sectors for it's economic well-being has a bigger obligation to this project. As such project management and leadership in Go Coffee Do Green and those organizations that support this course are placing PNG to next level of development.Therefore we, Go Coffee Do Green are anticipating sustainable socio-economic projects within project sites and corporate businesses that stipulate "Tripple Bottom Line": Profit, Human Capital and Environment.

Activities Undertaken:

• A sustainable socio – economic feasibility survey at Era Ward of Kumuai-bomai LLG in Gumine District Simbu Province. 

• Public Investment Program project proposal submitted to Department of National Planning and Monitoring for funding.

• The project appraised and initial mobilization support of K10,000.00 given.   The full funding of K3.5 recommended to National Development Bank (NDB) for loan assistance

•   Smallholder sustainable coffee production Project with innovative incentive scheme and website : www.edwa.org.pg  launched - 30th June, 2012.

• Now youths, men and women have rehabilitated their aging coffee trees as well as replanting new coffee seedlings and shade trees. Trees increased in numbers 

• However; 10% commitment from the Governor of Simbu and funding from NDB to empower project are yet to facilitate.

BSP Rural Banking and Go Green support Rural Coffee Industry• Date: 27th June 2012

• BSP yesterday (27/06) presented Go Green merchandise to support Go Coffee  Do Green by Era Development and Welfare Association.

• The kind gesture will support the Association for this weekend's community website and community development project launch. 

• Miss James says "rural livelihood development - rural industries depend on assistance for start-up, information, connection to markets and banking facilities to grow. 

• BSP's Gumine Rural Branch Banking team will be on hand this weekend at the launching event to  support,  assist  and  advise  small  holder  farmers  on Rural  Banking  Facilities  and open bank accounts. 

• BSP Rural Bank endeavours to assist rural industries by providing finance and banking facilities in the unreachable areas across PNG.

Do Green With Our Water – In Partnership with Eda Ranu Ltd:

• With respect to Corporate Responsibility for its cliental and social obligation, we Go Coffee Do Green have initiated a sustainable project “Do Green with Our Water”. 

• It was presented to the management of Eda Ranu and initial appraisal was done and referred to Eda Ranu Foundation

• However, Eda Ranu Foundation (ERF) was recently created in October 2014 and manpower requirement has not been sourced pending the company’s restructure.

• The aim of this project was to empower the Koirai community for effective involvement in sustainable income earning opportunities by revisiting their fertile land in rehabilitating rubber trees, coffee production and food crops for the city fresh food market. This initiative will reduce landownership issues and enable productive partnership.

• The initial support for awareness campaign will come from Eda Ranu Foundation and the project support will be put together as a PIP by the Project Manager (Go Coffee Do Green).
