#DREAMBIGWE ARE TOPDECKWe do epic North American road trips, Big Game

safaris, Eurotrips, pyramid expeditions, surf

camps and other awesomeness around the world

for travellers between 18-39.

We realise that everyone’s different, which is why

all our trips include heaps of free time to play and

explore. It’s your trip, your way.

Your trip includes all the must-see, must-do

activities and top-notch local fare to recharge

those batteries between stops, which means you

can spend your money where it matters and we’ll

take care of the rest.

In Africa, you will hit the road in purpose-built

safari trucks, stay where the action is and hang

out with other young explorers bent on seeing

the world.

And that’s just how we got started. We had

a group of mates, some wheels and enough

wanderlust to make most mothers worried.

Forty years into it, we’re still discovering

new places to see and unforgettable travel

experiences to make our passengers’ trips just

that little bit more awesome.

That’s us, but this is about you. It’s time to live

large, dream bigger and squeeze life for all it’s

worth. The rest can wait.

Ready to pack your bags? Let’s talk.

OUR AFRICA TRIPSIn Africa we work with leading safari operator

Acacia to deliver epic adventures across the

continent. With more than 20 years experience

running trips here and a team made up of

people either from Africa or with significant

time spent living there, you can rest assured

you’re in good hands.

You’ll stay in two-person dome tents on quality

camping grounds and get around in fully

equipped safari trucks. All trips are run with

a focus on sustainability, which means food

shopping in local markets and lending a hand

cooking, cleaning and unloading the trucks.

Victoria Falls

This is the place that made Dr

Livingstone lose his marbles. Locally

known as Mosi-oa-Tunya or “the smoke that

thunders”, Victoria Falls plunges 100 metres down

from a 17,00 metre wide rock lip on the border

between Zambia and Zimbabwe. It’s also one of the

world’s most scenic bungy jumps. Take that as a

dare.

03

Dune 45

The word namib means vast. A pretty

accurate description of the world’s fourth

largest natural conservation area, spanning 23,000

square kilometres from the Orange River in the south

to the Kukene River near the Angolan border in

the north. Get up early and trek up the sand dunes

like Lawrence of Arabia for a sunrise to write home

about.

04

Mozambique

You’re here for the whale sharks. But

that’s just the beginning. The reefs outside

Vilanculos make up one of the best guarded diving

secrets on the planet. Manta ray sightings are

almost guaranteed and encounters with humpback

whales, dolphins and other elusive marine life are not

uncommon during the right season. Bring a GoPro.

07

Maasai Mara

It’s called the Great Migration for a

reason. Every year between July and

August, hordes of zebras, antelopes and wildebeest

leave the Serengeti Plains for the cooling comfort of

the Maasai Mara savannah. With close to two million

animals on the move with predators in tow, you won’t

get this much action anywhere else on the planet.

08

Gorillas in the mist

Move over King Kong. Home to roughly

half of the world’s mountain gorilla

population, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is

one of the last remaining places in the world where

you can get up close and personal with a 425-pound

primate in the wild. Make sure to organise your

permit in advance (we can do it for you) as spots are

strictly limited in order to minimise human impact.

09

Serengeti NP

It’s a circle of life. On the flipside of the

annual Great Migration lies the closest

thing you’ll get to Pride Rock on the African

continent. With the highest concentration of lions

anywhere, zebras, hippos, wildebeest and 518 bird

species, Serengeti dishes up a live action show

that would give David Attenborough himself some

serious FOMO.

10

Okavango Delta

Answer the call of the wild. Brush up

on your Lion King lexicon as we take on

the world’s largest inland river delta in a mokoro

(dug-out canoe). Used by local tribes for hundreds of

years, this is the preferred mode of getting face-to-

face with hippos, lions and even crocodiles. Want to

high-roll it? Talk to us about a scenic flight.

05

Zanzibar

Beaches never looked this good. Travel

50 kilometres off the coast of Tanzania

into a cultural melting pot of Portugese, Indian and

Arab influences nestled between white, palm-

fringed beaches and turquoise water. Kick back

in the hammock, enjoy the world-class diving and

snorkelling or go nuts over the seafood pancakes at

Forodhani Gardens night market. Seriously.

06

Kruger NP

Welcome to the wild side.

If you ever wondered what would go

down in a showdown between a crocodile, a pack of

lions and a herd of buffalo, this is the place.

Tick off the Big 5 and keep an eye out for hippos,

giraffes and zebras straddled across an area nearly

as big as Belgium. Mufasa, who?

Cape Town

This is the gateway to Africa. With a

history as rich as the African continent,

Cape Town is the perfect spot to get your bearings

before you hit the wild.

Hike Table Mountain, check out one of the only two

land-based penguin colonies on earth and travel

back through time with a visit to Nelson Mandela’s

old prison cell on Robben Island.

MEET MUFASAJust like their cousins at Pride Rock, lions move around in prides with one alpha

male and a number of strong females. Weighing in at a steady 180 kilos with a top

speed of 81 km/h and a roar that can be heard from eight kilometres away, the

King of the Jungle holds its title for a reason.

PERFECT POUNCEABLE APES

CRASH COURSE STRIPE SCIENCE

While it may be slightly smaller than a lion, the leopard is

the pound-for-pound strongest cat in the animal kingdom.

Case in point: leopards are capable of dragging an entire

antelope up into a tree. #dinnerwithaview

With 98% of their DNA shared with humans, there’s

no wonder gorillas are quite clever. One captive-born

individual named Koko managed to learn 1,000 sign

language signs and 2,000 English words.

Notorious for their bad temper and habit of running head

first into things, research suggests rhinos’ poor eyesight is

to blame. Then again, a group of rhinos is called a crash.

Enough said.

Just like a human fingerprint, individual zebras can be

identified by the pattern of their stripes. They also keep

those pesky flies away, which could be useful when you

want to bring a group together into a harem.

GORILLA PERMITS

The Bwindi Impenetrable Park region is home to 400 of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. Due to the endangered status of this species, visitors are strictly limited and a permit must be reserved at the time of booking to make sure you get to spend time with these gentle giants. The cost for the permit is listed on each itinerary visiting the area and we will obtain one on your behalf (if still available). The permit also includes a trekking excursion to see chimpanzees in their local habitat at Kyambura Gorge. Note: gorilla permit rates are subject to change due to currency fluctuations.

Tip: It’s important to book your trip early since the number of gorilla permits is limited. Note that local laws and regulations don’t allow for permits to be reserved in bulk.

LOCAL PAYMENT

To offer you the best value, the cost of your trip is broken up between a trip price payable at the time of booking and a local payment payable in USD to your Trip Leader on your first day*. This payment covers food purchases, camping costs and the visit to at least one major game park during your trip.

Breaking these costs out allows us to maintain transparency with our suppliers and travellers as well as making sure the money goes directly to the people who have earned it. You will find the local amount payable listed next to the price for each itinerary in this catalogue.

*Local payment amount is subject to change.

MULTI -TRIP DISCOUNT* SAVE 5% off the cheapest trip price when you book 2 trips at the same time. Book 3 at the same time and SAVE 7.5% off the second and 10% off the third.

DAYS 1-2 Johannesburg, South Africa to Kruger National Park. Our trip begins in Johannesburg, the City of Gold and one of the most cosmopolitan cities on the African continent. Starting early, we travel east through the Mpumalanga province to the Greater Kruger area.

Kruger is South Africa’s premier national park and in connection with parks in adjoining Mozambique and Botswana, covers 24,000 square kilometres of land used in the protection of African wildlife!

Over dinner we enjoy a Shangaan cultural evening including traditional dance. We enjoy a full day’s game viewing in the national park, seeking wildlife encounters with Africa’s Big 5 - lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard – as well as giraffe, hippo, zebra, various antelope and a variety of amazing birdlife and reptiles. (D) (B,L,D)

DAYS 3-4 Kruger National Park to Antelope Park, Zimbabwe. Leaving Kruger, we move north, spending the night near the Limpopo River close to the Beitbridge Border. Completing formalities at the border post we enter Zimbabwe and drive through stunning landscapes and the town of Gweru to Antelope Park private game-ranch. There is the opportunity to try various optional activities including game drives, horseback riding, canoeing and many more. (B,L,Dx2)

DAYS 5-7 Antelope Park to Livingstone, Zambia. From Antelope Park, we make our way to Hwange National Park – Zimbabwe’s largest and best known Game Reserve and home to over 100 mammal species including the Big 5. We take either an evening or a morning game drive in the park before we cross into Zambia and drive to Livingstone and our camp situated on the banks of the Zambezi River. We have our last night at camp just downstream from Victoria Falls, one of Africa’s most spectacular sights and the perfect place to end our trip. (B,L,D) (Bx2)

DAYS 1-3 Nairobi, Kenya, and Maasai Mara National Reserve. From Nairobi we travel to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s best known game park. The Mara’s rolling grasslands and broad horizons, not to mention the wildlife, bring to mind images of what many people think of as ‘classic’ Africa. The annual migration of wildebeest and zebra between July and October each year is a particularly impressive sight. (B,D) (B,L,Dx2)

DAY 4 Nairobi to Arusha, Tanzania. From the ‘Mara’ we return briefly to Nairobi before crossing into Tanzania and on to Arusha, setting up camp a few miles out of town at the Meserani Snake Park. (B,L,D)

DAYS 5-8 Arusha to Moshi/Pangani area, via the Serengeti National Park/Ngorongoro Crater. We switch to smaller 4WD vehicles and drive west to Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park. We view game by day and by night camp out in the middle of the reserve, where wildlife may roam past. From the Serengeti plains we climb the steep sided Ngorongoro Crater and make camp on the rim. The Ngorongoro Crater is a spectacular World Heritage Site, offering unparalleled wildlife viewing opportunities. Returning to Arusha rejoining our truck we travel past Mt Kilimanjaro and have a night to relax in the Moshi/Pangani area. (B,L,Dx4)

DAYS 9-13 Moshi/Pangani Area to Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar. We travel to Dar es Salaam. After a night here we take the ferry to gorgeous Zanzibar to relax. Enjoy all this island has to offer before returning to the mainland where our trip ends. (B,L,D) (Bx4)

DAY 1 Nairobi, Kenya to Lake Nakuru National Park. We depart Nairobi for Kenya’s Great Rift Valley and Lake Nakuru National Park. Best known for its birdlife, especially flamingos, Nakuru also contains good stocks of rhinos, leopards, bualoes, warthogs, baboons, antelopes and lions! (L,D)

DAYS 2-3 Lake Nakuru National Park to Kampala, Uganda, via Eldoret. We continue north through the highlands to Eldoret before we cross into Uganda to the bustling capital Kampala. (B,L,Dx2)

DAY 4 Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park. After a night here we drive west to Queen Elizabeth National Park in search of Uganda’s natural wildlife, pausing to appreciate the views of Lake Edward. (B,L,D)

DAY 5 Queen Elizabeth National Park to Lake Bunyonyi. Our next stop is rural South West Uganda and our camp on Lake Bunyonyi. On the way we visit a chimpanzee sanctuary at Kyambura Gorge. Seen in their natural habitat chimpanzees live in structured social groups quite dierent to the gentle gorillas we see later in the trip. (B,L,D)

DAYS 6-8 Lake Bunyonyi (Gorilla trek and free time). Using Lake Bunyonyi as our base, it is in the densely forested area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest that local guides will lead us through the jungle on an optional trek to see a family of gorillas in the wild. The trek can be demanding but the eort is soon forgotten when we finally find ourselves in the midst of a family of gorillas. We have a one-hour audience with these gentle giants, and you may be surprised at how close you can get and how human-like they are. We spend several days in the area to allow time for everyone to complete the trek. (B,L,Dx3)

DAYS 9-12 Lake Bunyonyi to Jinja, via Kampala. Returning to Kampala we have a night in the capital before continuing to Jinja. Situated near the source of the River Nile there’s the opportunity to assist a local charity in building and improving community schools – roll up your sleeves and make a dierence! (B,L,Dx4)

This morning we enter the Queen Elizabeth National Park and take in the magnificent views of the mountains that separate Uganda from central Africa as well as Lake Edwards and Lake George. In fact Queen Elizabeth National park has over 500 species of bird and 100 species of mammals making it one of the most biodiverse national parks in the world and if you’re lucky, you might get to spot these animals en route to Kyambura Gorge for the trek to see the chimpanzees. Unlike their larger cousins the mountain gorilla, chimps live mostly in the trees and so our viewing is usually peering high into the forest canopy. However the experience of seeing man’s closest relative in the wild is a memorable one. We leave the national park and make our way to the lush and stunning Lake Bunyonyi (‘Place of many little birds’). This lake is 27km long, 7km wide and at an elevation of 1950m above sea level is surrounded by undulating hills between 2200m to 2478m high. With a depth of nearly 900m in parts this lake is the second deepest lake in Africa (the deepest being Lake Tanganyika in Tanzania). With 29 islands that can be visited by local boats, the lake is a great place to unwind, relax and explore on the days that we don’t trek to see the mountain gorillas. (B,L,D)

DAY 3-5 Lake Bunyonyi (Gorilla trek and free time). This region of Africa is home to the world’s remaining 770 mountain gorillas, many of which inhabit the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. (Occasionally we may travel into neighbouring Rwanda to trek for the gorillas) On the day of our trek we gather in the early morning to meet our local guide and tracker. Walking in small

groups we trek into the thick rainforest. The trek can be demanding at times with uneven terrain and hilly rainforest but the privilege of spending time with a family of these gentle primates makes the eort well worthwhile. To many people, even those who stay in Africa longer, the day’s trek and time with the gorillas remains their most exciting wildlife encounter in Africa.

When you’re not trekking there are many activities to do here such as hiring canoes to visit some of the lake’s islands, local tribes and villages and local orphanage as well as bird watching and nature walks. Or just relax around camp, catch up on the diary, or send some postcards home. (B,L,Dx3)

DAY 6 Lake Bunyonyi to Kampala. Leaving Lake Bunyonyi we make our way back across the Equator (stopping for a photo opportunity if we did not stop en route to Queen Elizabeth National Park) through lush pasture lands and the northern reaches of Lake Victoria (largest lake in Africa) to Kampala where our trip finishes upon arrival. Kampala is a hotspot for great food and entertainment. If time allows, take the night out and try the local cuisines and enjoy the hospitality and friendliness of the local Ugandans. (B,L)

36 | STAY & PLAY TERMS & CONDITIONS | 37

TERMS & CONDITIONSIt is our intention to set out clearly and simply the responsibilities which we at Top Deck Tours Ltd, whose office is at Level One, 107 Power Road, London W4 5PY, UK (UK Registration number 04905253), have to You, your heirs, executors and assigns and any member of your party and their heirs, executors and assigns (“You”) and which You, in turn, have to us when a contract is made between us. You should therefore read and understand the contents of these terms and conditions.

All trips featured in this brochure are sold by Top Deck Tours Ltd as an agent of Acacia Adventure Holidays, a company registered in the UK (registration number 03804375), and whose trading address is: Basement Unit, 23A Craven Terrace, London, W2 3QH, UK. All bookings are taken subject to the booking conditions of Acacia Adventure Holidays as follows:

The contract specified in 1 b) below (“The Contract”) for any of the holidays described in this brochure is between all persons named on the Booking (“You”) and Acacia Adventure Holidays Limited (‘the Company’, ‘us’, and “we”), and is made subject to the conditions below.

1. BOOKING YOUR HOLIDAYa) Bookings can be made either through your local travel agent or with us direct and must be secured with a deposit of GBP150 per person at the time of booking, This deposit is non-refundable unless we cancel your trip, plus, on tours visiting the gorillas and/or chimpanzees, the non-refundable price of the appropriate trekking permit. If You are booking within eight weeks of departure, full payment is required.

b) Your booking is accepted by the Company and becomes effective only from the date when the Company has confirmed acceptance to You or your travel agent in writing and issued a Confirmation Invoice. On that date The Contract for the holiday will come into effect. If for any reason the Company does not accept your booking your deposit will be returned. If other people are included in the booking you make, you accept the responsibility that they too are bound by these booking conditions and you have communicated these to them.

c) If You arrange your holiday directly with Topdeck, all correspondence and other communications will be sent to the address specified by You on your Booking Form, which will be that of the first person named, unless indicated otherwise by You.

d) If your booking is made through a travel agent, all communication from the Company will be with the agent. All monies you pay to the travel agent are held by it on your behalf until we issue our Confirmation Invoice. After this, the travel agent holds the monies on the Company’s behalf. For the avoidance of doubt all online bookings shall be deemed as booked in England and subject to these Terms and Conditions

2. AMENDMENTS AND CANCELLATIONa) Amendments by You. The Company will make every effort to assist You if you wish to alter your arrangements but reserves the right to impose an amending charge of GBP50 per booking in the event of your wishing to change a booking previously confirmed by the Company up to 56 days before departure, together with communication charges and other expenses incurred by the company. These charges will be payable whether or not the Company is successful in confirming the amended reservation. Amendments made by You within 56 days of departure will be treated as cancellations and re-bookings. The normal cancellation charges detailed below will then apply. All amendments should be reconfirmed in writing, signed by the signatory of the original booking.

b) Transfer of Bookings You may change your booking up to 30 days before departure by transferring it to another person if you are unavoidably prevented from travelling and the transferee meets any and all the conditions which apply to the travel arrangements booked. The right to transfer is subject to a payment of an administration fee of GBP50 per person (plus appropriate holiday insurance premium, if applicable) together with all additional charges of whatever sort imposed by the suppliers providing the component parts of the arrangements.

c) Cancellation by You If You wish to cancel your booking You must inform the Company in writing (signed by the person who signed the original booking) sending such written notification to Topdeck at our address above. Cancellation will be effective on the day it is received by the Company. The following charges, in addition to your deposit and where applicable the gorilla/chimpanzee permit money, will be payable by You, depending upon the number of days prior to departure date when the Company receives notice of cancellation.

The following is the cancellation fee payable based on when the cancel notification is received by the Company:

Days before Departure

% of trip cost forfeited

56 days or more Full Deposit42 to 55 days 35%28 to 41 days 50%14 to 27 days 75%Less than 14 days 100%

d) The Company acts as an agent when booking pre or post tour hotel accommodation and airport transfers. Cancellation of booked accommodation or transfers will be subject to a fee equal to one night’s accommodation provided you give at least 7 days’ notice of cancellation. Cancellation within 7 days will be subject to a fee equal to 100% of the price You have paid for the transfers and accommodation.

e) Amendments or Cancellation by the Company.

(i) If You do not pay the balance of the holiday price by eight weeks (56 days) before departure date, the Company reserves the right to treat the booking as cancelled, and to levy cancellation charges.

(ii) Every effort will be made to operate all holidays as advertised. However, we do plan the arrangements many months in advance and occasionally we may have to make changes and we reserve the right to do so at any time.

In very rare circumstances, such as insufficient numbers on safari holiday departures, the Company may have to cancel the whole or part of your holiday at any time up to four weeks prior to departure. In the event of any cancellation, the Company will use its best endeavours to offer alternative arrangements of a comparable standard or to make a full and prompt refund for all monies paid by You.

(iii) The Company will not normally cancel any holiday within four weeks of departure, except in circumstances outside the Company’s control in the event of war or threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, terrorist activities (threatened or actual), natural and nuclear disaster, fire or adverse weather conditions, or other circumstances amounting to force majeure. The Company will then use its best endeavours to offer you an alternative holiday of comparable standard, or make full and prompt refund of all monies paid to it by you.

(iv) In the rare event of cancellation becoming necessary within four weeks of departure date for reasons other than the force majeure circumstances described in the preceding paragraph, then the Company will offer, whenever possible, comparable arrangements or a full refund of all monies received by the Company from you. In addition, if the Company cancels a holiday less than 15 days before

departure, compensation of 10% of the holiday price (excluding insurance premiums, amendment charges and air fares) will be paid to You.

(v) The Company reserves the right to alter routes, schedules, itineraries, amenities and mode of transport, without prior notice, during the period of the holiday, due to circumstances or events which affect the stated intentions of the holiday. These influences may include, but are not limited to, sickness, mechanical breakdown, events emanating from political disputes, acts of terrorism (threatened or actual), entry of border difficulties, adverse weather conditions, earthquakes, and other unpredictable or unforeseeable circumstances.

(vi) The Company designates selected tour departures as ‘Guaranteed’ at its discretion. This guarantee is subject to (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above and the Company reserves the right to remove the Guaranteed designation at any time.

3. HOLIDAY PRICE POLICYa) All Prices in this brochure are based by reference to currency rates published in the UK Financial Times on 22 August 2014. The Company reserves the right to increase the tour price not less than 30 days before departure, to take account of: government action, currency exchange rate fluctuations, increase in fuel costs or ground transportation charges, although it will absorb an amount equal to 2% of the price of your travel arrangements as arranged by the Company. The Company reserves the right to change any of the services, prices, or other particulars contained in this brochure at any time before we enter into a contract with you. If there is any change the Company will notify you before you enter into such contract.

b) After the Company has issued your initial Confirmation Invoice (after receipt of your booking), should there be a need for any subsequent surcharges, these will be shown on a Supplementary Invoice, sent to You (or your travel agent) no later than nine weeks (63 days) prior to your departure date.

c) Payment of all invoices is due to reach the Company not later than eight weeks (56 days) prior to departure date. Provided that the Company receives settlement in full by the due date, it undertakes to absorb any price increases that may arise after that date, except for airfare and Local Payment increases.

d) The financial commitments the Company undertakes in order to offer this guarantee mean that it may not be able to make reductions in holiday prices should exchange rates vary from those quoted in clause 4a.

e) If your holiday is booked within the eight week period mentioned here, then your Confirmation Invoice will have detailed the final surcharges (if any) that are due.

f) Should any final surcharges exceed 10% of the total price of your holiday as invoiced at the time when your booking was first made, you are entitled to cancel your booking within 14 days of the date of issue of our Supplementary Invoice and obtain a full refund of all payments made to the Company, except for holiday insurance and any amendment charge previously incurred. Cancellation advice is deemed to become effective on the date on which the Company receives this. Cancellations should always be notified in writing (Recorded Delivery is advisable, (Fax or email is acceptable but please telephone to confirm receipt). This should be sent to Topdeck at our address above.

g) The Local Payment mentioned on the tour page is a mandatory payment additional to the Tour Price and is intended to cover the cost of items listed under the Local Payment’ heading on the relevant brochure page for each tour. There is an additional mandatory payment on the applicable tours for the viewing permits for the gorillas and chimpanzees. The Local Payment must be paid in U.S. Dollars cash at the pre-departure meeting prior to the departure of the holiday or as otherwise directed by the tour leader.

4. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE COMPANY(a) The Company applies all reasonable checks to ensure that those involved in the preparation and provision of your holiday maintain the appropriate standards. The descriptions, information and opinions given in this brochure by the Company are given in good faith, based on the latest information at the time of going to press. Unless specifically advised to the contrary by the Company, nothing shown in any brochure or other publication (whether supplied by us or not) constitutes a condition or term of this contract, or shall be relied upon in any way. In exceptional circumstances outside the control of the Company, its agents or suppliers, such as, but not limited to, circumstances amounting to force majeure such as war, threat of war, political unrest, riots, civil disturbances, terrorist activities (threatened or actual), legally or illegally organised labour disputes, adverse weather conditions, and acts of God, the Company, its agents or suppliers cannot be held responsible for any limitation or withdrawal of facilities.

(b) (i) Where You do not suffer death or personal injury, we accept liability should any part of your holiday arrangements booked with the Company in the United Kingdom not be as described in the brochure and not be of a reasonable standard, and, subject to (iii), (iv) and (v) below will pay you compensation of an amount which could reasonably be expected, taking into account all the relevant circumstances. Any sums received by You from suppliers, such as airlines due to the Denied Boarding Regulations 1992 (in this case sums paid by the airline constitute the full amount of your entitlement to compensation for all matters flowing from the airline’s actions) will be deducted from any sum paid to You as compensation by the Company.

(ii) Where You suffer death or personal injury as a result of an activity forming part of your holiday arrangements with the Company, we accept responsibility subject to (iii), (iv) and (v) below.

(iii) The Company accepts liability in accordance with (i) and (ii) above and subject to (iv) and (v) below except where the cause of the failure of your holiday arrangements or any death or personal injury You may suffer is not due to any fault on our part or that of our servants, agents or suppliers, and is your fault, or due to the actions of someone unconnected with your holiday arrangements or due to unusual or unforeseeable circumstances or events which neither we, nor our servants, agents or suppliers could have anticipated or avoided even with the exercise of full care.

(iv) Where a claim (whether for personal injury or non-personal injury) arises out of loss or damage suffered during the course of air travel, rail travel, sea travel, road travel or hotel accommodation, the Company’s liability and/or the amount of compensation You will receive will be limited in accordance with the contractual terms of the companies providing the transportation for your travel arrangements, which are incorporated into this contract, and the provisions of the relevant International Conventions, namely the Warsaw Convention 1929 as amended by the Hague Protocol 1955, the Berne Convention 1961, the Geneva Convention 1973, the Paris Convention 1962, and the Montreal Convention.

(v) The Company’s acceptance of liability in (i), (ii), (iii) and (iv) above is conditional upon You assigning any rights that You may have against any of our servants, agents, or suppliers which is in any way responsible for the failure of your holiday arrangements or any death or personal injury You may suffer. Such acceptance of liability is also subject to your following the procedures for the notification of complaints set out in the booking conditions.

(vi) The use by the Company of transport in connection with your holiday is subject to the conditions of carriage of the operators or owners of such transport. These conditions may include the provision of the law of the country of the carrier or be subject to international conventions which may limit or exclude the carrier’s liability.

(vii) Please note that when You book excursions or other services locally you contract with the local company providing that excursion

or service and not with the Company. The Company has no legal liability for anything that goes wrong with such an excursion or service and any claim which you might have arising from the excursion or service will be against the relevant local company and subject to the local company’s terms and conditions.

(ix) You should regard as optional all activities and/or excursions mentioned in this brochure which are not undertaken on a vehicle belonging to the Company, and are not specifically stated as being included in the tour price.

DAY 1 Nairobi, Kenya to Lake Nakuru National Park. We depart Nairobi for Kenya’s Great Rift Valley and Lake Nakuru National Park. Best known for its birdlife, especially fl amingos, Nakuru also contains good stocks of rhinos, leopards, buff aloes, warthogs, baboons, antelopes and lions!

Seen in their natural habitat chimpanzees live in structured social groups quite diff erent to the gentle gorillas we see later in the trip.

The trek can be demanding but the eff ort is soon forgotten when we fi nally fi nd ourselves in the midst of a family of gorillas.

Situated near the source of the River Nile there’s the opportunity to assist a local charity in building and improving community schools – roll up your sleeves and make a diff erence! (B,L,Dx4)

14 DAY Gorilla Encounter
